Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they’re haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye
When Chloe said “why are you doing this to me?” I felt that shit in my heart.
I have been in that position before, where the guy knows your feelings for him, where there’s a history there of something more than friendship, and yet he doesn’t want you but he won’t let you want anyone else, and it will drive you into the arms of someone not right for you because the right thing to you, in that moment, is that at least this person was upfront with you.
We as viewers know that Lucifer has feelings for Chloe, but Chloe is on the outs here, she doesn’t know.
All she knows is what she’s experienced, and what she experienced was Lucifer changing his mind when things got real. To her he got scared and ran away and now she’s finally okay with him being just a friend, she moves on and he’s got issue with that- as if she didn’t have to watch Candy being all over him IMMEDIATELY following their almost moment.
We’re saying this is so out of character for Chloe, and that she wants words from Lucifer and actions from Pierce- but I get that. She just wants someone to love her unconditinally, she just wants to be ENOUGH for someone, but Pierce has all the words but hasn’t acted right and Lucifer has acted right but hasn’t said the words- so when one of them gets their shit together and does both by promising her the future she wants, of course she’s gonna say yes.
Especially after she basically had to force the real guy she wants into admitting his feelings AND HE STILL COULDN’T.
Now I hate Marclo, I really do, because he’s a lying, minipulative, abusive, ass, and shes only with him because he’s offering her something that Lucifer seemingly can’t give her, and I have no doubt that Deckerstar will be endgame.
But what I’m saying is, I get it, and I’m heartbroken for Chloe right now.
Marcus Will Never
know that Chloe is selfless to a nauseating degree
understand that Trixie comes first even though she doesn’t help pay the rent
be worthy of Chloe’s grace
know that every crime scene breaks her heart, even if she doesn’t admit it
appreciate Chloe’s impossibly boring middle name, Jane
be as good as her, because she’s special
Because he isn’t worth it!
so this just occurred to me (cause i'm a slow-thinking idiot)
There might be a significant difference between what was Amenadiel saying in this scene and what was M/C hearing and my dumb ass just hasn't noticed before.
Let's have a look:
I think I'm finally grasping what's happening.
So, what Amenadiel means is how unlikely it is that the Devil himself would find someone to care about and who cares about him this deeply and yet, here we are with the miracle Detective Chloe. He's happy about their connection.
What Pierce sees however, is that she makes Lucifer - a celestial being - vulnerable and eventually killable which is what he's been wanting since who knows how long. He only cares about his own goal - which is obviously to die.
So there's that. Feel free to give me your thoughts on this (even though it's late)
Random Lucifer post
I’m still pretty perturbed by the Marcno arc. Like I sincerely wish it never happened because it upset me so much. Cain was so so bad for Chloe. She deserved so much better.
My mom, stepping out of her room: what the FUCK are you doing, it's 4 in the morning
Me, standing on top of the kitchen counter, banging pots and pans together and screaming at the top of my lungs: CHLOE DESERVES BETTER! CHLOE DESERVES BETTER! CHLOE DESERVES BETTER! CHLOE-
Lucifer 3x20 - The Angel of San Bernardino
I’m a bit late to the party (watched the episode this afternoon CET) but I want to share my thoughts... I find things quite obvious but some people seem to have different views.
About Marclo: Chloe is the kind of person who wants stable things. She had this kind of relationship with Dan. And she just wants to rely on somebody. This is why she thinks Pierce is a good man. He doesn’t seem to lie to her and he just enjoys being around her. That’s the save version of love for Chloe. And: They definitely had sex in the evidence closet. Her look when she said they “came” was too obvious (or is it just in the gifs)
Deckerstar: The problem Chloe has with Lucifer is that she feels like she can’t rely on him... for some reason... deep down inside she probably knows he’d die for her. But when it comes to “normal” stuff he tends to chicken out, run away, overreact. And in her eyes he is making up all those celestial stories that make no sense. She knows he is not insane but he also does not understand his intention about all these “stories”. Do they love each other? Of course... but actually their affection goes deeper than a simple “I love you”. It’s actually rather “I’ll always be there for you and I hope you will be too” Part of me wishes Lucifer had talked to Chloe and hugged her when she was sitting on the Couch crying. But it was right to go after Pierce... he deserved it.
Maze: She was very insightful. Actually I was a bit hurt when I realized she was right. Lucifer cares more about himself than about Chloe. I’m sad that Maze is so bitter... I hope it will be fixed.
Ella: I am a huge fan of Ella and I think there’s more to her. She told Pierce “We are alike” and I don’t see it but I won’t write this conversation off as bad writing. It will make sense. Pierce is the only person who ever said something remotely mean to Ella. She sensed “light” in Mom... maybe the evil in Cain also fascinates her. After all this is such a happy person dealing with death every day... yes, it’s an American TV show, but still... when you look at Ella, she’s the exact opposite of her job.
Trixie: Maybe due to the events with Maze she also wants to step away from this weird supernatural bunch of people... But she is probably also just very supportive to her Mom. Children sense a lot.
Cain’s mark: Wasn’t it obvious why it was gone? For the first time in millennia this little bastard realized that he did something wrong. For the first time he felt guilt. He said that he deserved to be punished. This is actually what gets you out of hell even, so why wouldn’t it work to break a curse? Will he go to heaven now? I hope not... but he might get out of his hell.
General thoughts: Tom Ellis’ acting was amazing in this episode... all this pain and agony... Lucifer nearly going insane... Sometimes funny sometimes painful to watch... in a good way yet... I just wanted to hug our poor devil.
