Who is on deck??? #MARCOA at #NWMH hospital since they deny, distract, avoid & say “someone isn’t there” when I heard someone call his name & then a person walks out w his tag turned around & really weird. You get to see me so I get to see you, but I’m also not dealing w your bullshit anymore NORTHWESTERN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL because I have #theBest cate & #theWorst & no way to express “patient concern” adequately if they literally do what the #doctors do so that’s 3 places & I’m pretty sure that’s a culture... meauk@g THEY BELIEVE THEY CAN #BULLY when I said, “I’m a specialist, too” so knowledge not everyone has so you can make it up on the spot. How many times did I hear it... too many & why my #HEAD is #BOOM... head butted really sux ✅ the physical violence gets returned to that community so let’s act dumb when they say things like “we care” soooo huh... there’s no way! I don’t believe you! You’re causing more harm so shut the fuck up. That’s hilarious to me... you’re an idiot. I can tell that to this woman who asked if the kids were arrested & that went 💥 #STARBUCKS #PHILLY & calling the cops because the question was “I’d like to give a presentation to inform parents w #specialneeds #disability to be diligent in choosing schools & I have SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE. I didn’t expect her to call back & we’ll see how long that was. Seriously, it would’ve been 10 minutes & mostly Q&A since that’s what I got from the forum. 9/10 questions were about #specialeducation & there would’ve been 10 people there. When presented w a decision, how can these people think they can just disappear & that’s it. Hello once again readers,

The movie I’ll be talking about is “Spirited away” (千と千尋の神隠し/Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi), a movie some of you may know from childhood. It is an animated feature film released in 2001 by the writer and director, Hayao Miyazaki, that won one oscar and other 51 awards and 24 nominations. It is the most successful movie in Japan’s history, overtaking Titanic. The Ghibli Studio worked close to Miyazaki in order to keep the writer’s expectations of how the movie should be made. Video animation was used but only to a certain extent, being the characters hand-drawn. Miyazaki had loads of inspiration from his personal life, from childhood to adulthood so that almost every element of the movie, from characters and buildings to small details in the surroundings, had a correspondence to something in his life, for exemple, the bathhouse (onsen) is based on the one that Miyazaki had close to his house when he was young and always found it mysterious.

The plot is set around this girl named Chihiro that moves to a new house and in the way there, her father takes the wrong turn, getting them lost. They get to a sinister place and decide to explore inside a tunnel that surprisingly leads to an amusement park that looks abandoned but strangely has restaurants with fresh cooked food. While her parents decide to eat, Chihiro walks around and finds a mysterious bathhouse. She meets a boy called Haku that tells her to go away from that place before sunset, she runs and finds her parents turned into pigs. As things get weirder she discovers that the amusement park is actually a place for gods and spirits to revitalize themselves (a story that Miyazaki made up about the bathhouse of his younger years). She has to work at the bathhouse in order to rescue her parents and solve the problems she finds there.

Meanwhile, she is forced to grow up and overcome her childish fears, transforming her in a charming woman from the immature child she was. This fact makes this movie comparable to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, since both have to go through a magical world in order to mature themselves. Miyazaki shaped up Chihiro’s personality based on a friend’s 10-year-old daughter from the detail of only hearing her name being called the second time to the way she behaves and walks around, giving the motion picture a more realistic look.

How is it like to not know anything, else what exists inside a Room?

Hello again dear readers! This time I’m bringing you an oscar winning movie that released at the end of last year. It is called Room and it is shocking the world with its story that is as fiction as it is very real! It is written by the author that wrote the book it is based, Emma Donoghue. The book is also called Room.

The story is about the 24-year-old Joy who has been enclosed inside a small shed for nearly 7 years. She was abducted by a man whose name is addressed as Old Nick. In addiction to that, she was regularly raped while inside the shed by this man. But the main character is not this girl but the boy whose name is Jack and he is the child that was born inside this shed and bought up by his mother inside that same shed. Yet, Joy had to raise her child the best that she could, making this boy believe that everything that exists is inside Room and Room was the entire world. They had a small kitchen with a very small counter space, a wardrobe where Jack slept while his mother was being raped, a bed, a table and chairs, a bathtub, a toilet and a TV. Jack believed that the TV was just fiction and that beyond the walls of the shed there were no other sides, just space. He also believed that there isn't enough room for TV stuff to exist. The viewers go through a psychological wash as they experience and understand what it is to be born in a fake reality that seems to be so good for Jack since he doesn’t know any other. However, his mom goes through depression and often shows a listless mood. But above all, she tries her best to be optimistic with Jack around, she wanted Jack to be happy after all. It’s magnificent the way this mother brings up her kid, she exercises with him, plays with him, makes up a character in each object that there is and Jack greets them ‘Good Morning!’ everyday. All of this because she knew one day she would break free and her son had to be prepared for that. 

And they did just that. His mother made him pretend that he was dead so that Old Nick would bring him out to bury the body. She told him instructions to escape Old Nick’s truck and find help. I won’t get into further detail since it should be something you should watch by yourself. But later, after both have gone out, Jack feels the shock to be on the outside and has a slight desire to go back to Room. Here is the trailer and it looks promising from the very start.

I advise that action loving people are not going to like it but those who are curious about the emotional fight that these people go through, it is first class. After watching the film, you transform the way you perceive things and get to understand how common sense and reality as we know it are built on things that we see and sense and that since there is no other known reality, as far as the watcher is concerned, going to such “alienated” place brings us fear. 

Jack overcomes his fear and adapts to his new world, in other words, he got out of his comfort zone and grew up. In conclusion, it is visible that the story around the raping and the mother is just an alibi to bring up the main message which is getting out of your confort zone and grow up.

Laura Miller hace una visita a Marie Luise Knott autora del nuevo libro sobre Hannah Arendt, donde dedica un capitulo especial a cómo percibía la ironía la filosofa judía y que uso puede darle comparado con la idea de David Foster Wallace.

Los chistes de Zizek

Slavoj Zizek es un filósofo esloveno marxista, psicoanalista y crítico cultural. Es investigador senior en el Instituto de Sociología y Filosofía de la Universidad de Ljubljana, Eslovenia, y el director internacional del Instituto Birkbeck para las Humanidades.

Publicado en marzo de 2014 , "Los chistes de Zizek " es un pequeño libro que afirma haber capturado la totalidad de los chistes publicados por Slavoj Zizek en Inglés , variaciones y todo.

Algunos de los chistes dar una idea hilarante en la dialéctica hegeliana , el psicoanálisis lacaniano o ideología . Otros son simplemente divertido, y la mayoría son algo ofensivo - una característica ciertamente Zizek no le importa para corregir .

La lógica de la tríada hegeliana puede ser perfectamente prestados por las tres versiones de la relación entre el sexo y migrañas ...

Comenzamos con la clásica escena : un hombre quiere sexo con su esposa, y ella responde: "Lo siento , cariño , tengo una jaqueca terrible , no puedo hacerlo ahora ! " Esta posición de partida es entonces negada / invertido con el aumento de la liberación feminista - es la esposa la que ahora exige el sexo y el pobre hombre cansado que responde: "Lo siento , cariño , tengo una jaqueca terrible ... " En el momento de conclusión de la negación de la negación que de nuevo se invierte toda la lógica , esta vez haciendo que el argumento en contra de una discusión de , la esposa afirma : " Cariño, tengo una jaqueca terrible , así que vamos a tener un poco de sexo para refrescarme ! " y aunque uno puede imaginar un momento más bien depresivo de la negatividad radical entre el segundo y el tercer versiones: el marido y la esposa ambos tienen migrañas y aceptar simplemente tienen una taza de té
