A classic baked ziti recipe that combines al dente pasta with rich marinara sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey melted cheese. Perfect for a comforting family dinner or a potluck gathering.
Ingredients: 1 lb ziti pasta. 2 cups marinara sauce. 1 cup ricotta cheese. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil. 2 cloves garlic, minced. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 190C 375F. Follow the directions on the package to cook ziti pasta until it is al dente. Remove the water and set it aside. Cook the ziti and put it in a large bowl. Add the marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Put the mixture in a baking dish that has been greased. Add the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Take off the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. If you want, add more basil leaves as a garnish before serving.
