I think what makes the situation between marinus and his stepmother so fascinating is that they're both horrible people so you're not exactly rooting for either of them, just watching with morbid fascination what happens

Like damn yeah claudia that is a pretty horrific situation to find yourself in, to be completely helpless at the mercy of someone who despises you and is turning everyone in your social circles against you. It sucks to be begging everyone for help, only to have none of them believe you no matter what you say.

So why does the man you raised hate you so much when you're the only mother he's ever known?

isekai maid au where seasalt works as a butler at the anders estate, and is somehow roped into brigette and shellie's friendship group

Marina was never kicked out of the academy, but one day when she's visiting her family seasalt has his work friends over for dinner or something, so she somehow still ends up becoming friends with them anyways

As she gets to know shellie and bridgette more and more, she sees how intelligent both of them are, and she sees how bridgette seems to be a natural at magic. That's when she gets the idea to open a school for limpetta folks once she leaves school, and she recruits her friends and cousin as teachers.

Also, frank sees seasalt one day when he's visiting his cousins and falls hard and fast for him. Seasalt can't really stand him at first, because he's classist and also he's an imperial knight, but slowly over time they're able to rehabilitate him into a somewhat decent guy
