So let's talk about Gordo's past for a sec please because we REALLY should.
I mean, before Ravensong, Gordo was just this grumpy man that had tethered himself to Ox. And like before he steppped between Thomas and Richard during their fight i feel like we didn't really know how to feel about him other than he was this quiet, constantly angry tattooed guy.
But once i had gotten into Ravensong, bOY WAS I DONE FOR. Gordo will forever remain my favourite character because oh my lord the hurt and betrayal and loneliness he has been put through should've been enough for ANYBODY to have a freakin mental breakdown.
His father- whom i'd gladly have the pleasure of decapitating if he wasn't fictional- TORE. HIM. APART. just so he could put fucking magic in his ELEVEN YEARS OLD child's system. And yet Gordo always kept saying to his father and his future Alpha that he'd do his best to become the Bennet's Witch.
HIS FATHER TOOK AWAY ANY CHANCE FOR HIM TO HAVE A HAPPY CHILDHOOD. HE KILLED GORDO'S GRANDFATHER BECAUSE HE WANTED TO GIVE GORDO A CHANCE TO ESCAPE THIS.
he made Gordo think HIS MOTHER WAS GOING CRAZY WHEN SHE WARNED HIM. Yes maybe she sounded paranoid about the wolves and how they shouldn't be trusted, but before ALL, Gordo was her Child. Her only beloved child. She wanted him to have the life HE wanted. Not the life someone wanted FOR him. She wanted him to have a choice.
Gordo had to endure hearing everynight his mother begging his father to stop leading his son's life as he wanted.
Gordo had to fucking live while all the bonds between him and his pack were slowly and painfully shattering when they left him.
He had everything taken away from him all at once. His Father, who he loved despite everything he had done to him. His mother. His Pack.
So of course when 3 assholes known as Rico Tanner and Chris were giving him the warmth and friendship and love and support he was supposed to have from his own pack and family, of course he would consider them as his own pack. His own Home.
Gordo is such a beautiful strong character because even after losing everything, he held on to bits and pieces that were left broken, and he began healing. Even if it took him years he was healing. First the raven statue, then Rico and Tanner and Chris, then came Ox who gave him peace.
So don't you dare say Gordo is quick to anger or doesn't forgive when he ignores Mark. Because for Gordo, everytime he saw Mark was like opening healed up wounds that he'd worked so hard on closing.
BECAUSE HE LOVES MARK. Even Gordo said it, he thought that after all the pain his old pack gave him, his feeling towards Mark were gonna turn into something akin to hate or anger. But it pissed him off how even after everything, he still loved him very deeply.
*siiiggghh* God i love Gordo.
