Oh this is a tough one, nuance, I'd say, if I'm writing? Tim 100%, reading? Probably Tim too because fuck does not a single person actually get Mark right.
I can accept people getting Tim wrong, because we don't see a lot of him in canon and people are going to paint him how they want to, even if ignoring the Shepard's canon details is irritating.
Relating so heavily to Mark makes me get so incredibly pissed off when people get him wrong that I won't even read fics with him as a main character anymore- atleast until maybe MattDillon or VellichorVibes (Idk if I should tag them or not lmao, feels weird cause I can never tell where the friendship line is) write something, I'd give their characterizations a lot of leeway cause I like them as people, (and yours if you ever get around to reading TWTTIN and writing something lmao) but everyone else will actually offend me on a personal level, and that's really hard to do, so I avoid him in fics in general lmao
I adore the Shepards, what little we get of them and trying to build a personality/life that includes their canon traits and interactions is always a challenge and I love it. I love having Tim be an older brother in ways we don't get from Darry or the others.
But fuck do I relate so heavily to Mark. He's so heavily ASPD coded I can't not relate to him. I can see the logic and reasoning behind every decision he makes regardless of whether I'd do the same, and in his place I might have actually made a lot of the same decisions or worse ones.
In TO I relate heaviest to Dally, but in all of the Hintonverse Mark catches me so perfectly. Even later on, in Tex, I can't say for certain I'd be able to kill my EP even after several years of torment caused by them and planning on how to do it.
