1i. oooh, what got cut from marshalfic? oh boy.
i had an alternate ending that i almost cried my way into doing where ponyboy would've run off with dallas. but... i had the original ending picked out. i had to stick to it. i couldn't let them run off into a fantasy.
originally two bit was a bit more involved but i found the fic was better with less two bit in it
i have a half written sequel where ponyboy tracks down the st christopher. it's never being published because i feel it doesn't live up to the original fic
i have another half written sequel where tim serves as a foil to dallas and it's shepard sibling drama but i don't really have investment in them like that and again, didn't meat the standards i wanted
3c. my entire red scare au, "if i had my way about it, they'd all be sent back to russia" is underrated severely. moving canon to the 1930s makes some really interesting changes erupt and i love love love the era. why does it deserve love?
jerry wood as a significant character!! i love writing jerry wood as the kind of adult ponyboy has to look up to in life and making him his mentor
having dallas as an original mob member, effectively lucky luciano in ways, is very different from dallas as a mob member in the 60s/70s. he's off the boat sicilian, he's driven in a different way, and cares for pony in a different way

❄️ What's your dream theme/plot for a fic and who would write it best?
Oooh this one's hard! I tend to write any and every story that comes to mind.
Probably a Wild West au for the Outsiders by either you or Hintons would be my go to at the moment, I'm back on my RDR2 kick and it's got my attention right now so I'm working on my own, but I already know either of you would blow my version out of the water.
Another would be a prison/reformitory au (of course I am also working on this, cause I can't let an idea linger for long)
Actually I have a lot of ideas that I crave to see made into stories and I could go on for a long time so I'll leave it there lol.

I don't have a lot of headcanons honestly lol.
My favorite ships are:

•Purly/PaperCut
I mostly write for Tally and Purly, so I guess my favorite headcanon is that in Tim and Dally's on-and-off again not quite a relationship that at somepoint Tim defintely slept with Sylvia just to spite him. (Unhealthy relationships frfr)
🔪 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
This one is hard to answer because I don't know what counts as weird. I've researched a lot about drugs, addiction, and the effects of both hallucinogens and opiates on young children's brains, as well as teenage pregnancy now vs. the 1960s, and also what types of alcohol would be good for arson lol, so pick your weirdest.
🏜️ What's your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?
Stuck between paragraphs and totally unhinged honestly lol.
Paragraphs are the heart and soul of inspiration, getting a super long comment breaking down the story into little bite size pieces gives me so much dopamine and makes my fingers itch to start working on the next story in hopes of receiving another one.
But boy do unhinged comments hit different.
🦴 Is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?
Ozymandias by Percy Shelley is the only poem I've ever liked and everytime I listen to it read out makes me froth and crave to write anything.
Otherwise I would say reading fanfiction is a huge inspiration, or shuffling my 1k+ song playlist and I can build a dozen stories off any single song :p

I'm not entirely sure what this means but I will go for it!
Improving my writing has been on my mind a lot, I'm constantly trying to learn and get better, especially when I am comparing myself to authors like you and Hintons.
Which is good, I can't really get imposter syndrome, so comparing myself to better authors is the only way I can improve.
I want to get better at characterizations, and dialogue, and setting the atmosphere in general and I love that I can go back to just four months ago and see how much I've already improved.
It's been a near constant on my mind everytime I start to write or read anything lately.
🥐 Name one internet reference that will always make you laugh.
Literally any of the old vines always kill me, or following any sentence with "you wouldn't download/pirate a..."

The St. Christopher chain was a bad omen if he’d ever seen one.

I get that with my DalPony stories people are there for the DalPony of it all but I really do enjoy putting time into scenes with side characters too, like all the cut aways in m a s q u e r a d e but specifically with the "off-screen" deaths of steve and johnny in smalltown boy
The rapid smattering of gunfire behind them made Dally’s blood freeze and he whipped around, head craning out the window to see past the crates. Somewhere just beyond the cover of the treeline the night lit up in sharp, stuttering flashes. The sound of it was rhythmic and mechanical like a sewing machine from hell, chewing up the silence with teeth of lead. A vicious rat-a-tat-tat-tat! echoed all around them accompanied by the smashes and crashes of a beloved Duesenberg being absolutely blasted to shreds with Steve Randle in the front seat.
dallas and pony only hear this happen but this scene was very cinematic in my mind and i pictured steve's death being a lot like sonny from the godfather or the bonnie and clyde film with faye dunaway and warren beatty. like theres a split second where he realizes whats about to happen and then he's shot to pieces. things pop off so quickly from THIS point and it was actually a really big moment to the story
Johnny Cade lay slumped over the front seat, head canted at an unnatural angle, eyes open and empty. ... His throat was sliced open like a grotesque smile, his farmboy getup soaked through down to his knees. Blood, thick and metallic, had spilled into the seat and dripped down onto the floorboards, pooling over the leather upholstery. ... He couldn’t guess how long Two-Bit had been riding around with Johnny like that; long enough for the blood to dry. It was old and sticky, congealed in spots from a long trip in the biting cold.
the implication here is meant to be that two-bit slit johnny's throat HOURS ago. i imagined him doing it as soon as they pulled away from the gas station around noon so he's been driving with his corpse since. when i thought up that detail i was like "CHILLS!" because i also dont think that would stop two from talking and cracking jokes to his dead friend that bled out right there next to him while he just drove on like nothing leading the others into a trap. its VERY DARK and i dont think nearly enough people caught it or cared enough about it because...dalpony
DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE ALL THE LOVE FOR MY DALPONY WORK BUT THESE 2 DEATHS WERE SO EXCITING TO WRITE AND I THINK YOU WERE THE ONLY PERSON THAT EVEN MENTIONED THEM IN THE COMMENTS!!!
