What I don't understand is how O'Mara can call the George Zimmerman case an open an shut self defense case. Let's review the facts for a minute. Trayvon Martin was walking home at 7:09 pm, pursued by a strange male in a car. Trayvon Martin notices the strange man following him, and breaks into a run. The strange man then gets out of the car and confronts him. Okay, so I'm a woman, and if I was being followed by a man like that, I would feel threatened. I would run away. Because that is what you do. You try to avoid a conflict. And that's what Martin did. And if he still persisted, I would have every right to assume that my follower is a potential assaulter or sex offender, and I would attack him, and that would be self defense. Trayvon Martin was threatened and he had every right to self defense. So yes, actually, O'Mara is right in one respect. It is an open and shut case of self defense. Only Zimmerman is the aggressor.
