The common "modern films are allergic to colour" discourse hits a little different from me because I think the topic of whether a lack of striking colours on-screen adds to the story's atmosphere is a much more fulfilling conversation

Because one of my favourite films ever is Never Let Me Go and it looks like this:

And in my opinion this more muted colour palette adds to the kind of story that's being told. And IYKYK.
