Control was always on the edge.
Wang Jackson’s control was always on the edge of the abyss, wanting for him to be too weak and wishing that he would edge to that end, without looking back. This was something he wanted badly. There was no need to deny it. The desire of wanting to be out of control and losing himself in the feeling of hunger was always present in his life. Giving up would be so easy. It wouldn’t have been the first time, but sometimes, this seemed almost like a memory. When was the last time he had lost control, with the purpose of turning a city into a battlefield of blood and corpses? His parents were still alive when that happened. They had died at least ten years ago, so a lot had changed since that time. If he could recall correctly, he had killed even before his parents’ death. Time turned into a slow black-hole and the truth is that Jackson stopped having notion of the time.
His main purpose in life was to find his brother’s killer. That was why he was in Busan.
Losing control would take him away from this path, because he knew that as soon as the blood would become best buddies with his taste buds, the vampire would have an undetermined fight with the monster inside of him. Not that he was ashamed of who he was, but in this moment, his brother was more important than anything in the whole world.
That was exactly why he needed Mark.
Mark Tuan had been the one who helped him with his control, the last time he had wanted to feed from an entire store full with people. The dancer had been outside, counting the seconds to gain some control when the human approached him; such of a silly human. It would take only a second for Jackson to kill him, if he wanted. However, the other male seemed to be worried with him. Perhaps that had been the reason why the vampire had managed to gain his control back. Or maybe it was because the other man was blind and he wouldn’t be able to see what kind of monster Jackson was. It could be a mix of both of these reasons. The truth was that since then, Jackson had tried to keep Mark close.
The only problem now was that the vampire was about to lose his control again and the other male wasn’t around.
That was why Jackson wandered around the streets of Busan, searching him. Where could Mark be? Because of time they spent together, he was aware of some of his favorite places. It didn’t take him to finally find him at some cafe, with someone else with him. The Hong Konger obviously didn’t care with whom he was with, as he approached their table and tapped his fist against the table. “We need to leave now.” Jackson said quickly, knowing he would recognize him from his voice.
