Downtime

Everything has been very calm so far. My SO has been very attentive and loving. I love this kind of time because it gives us a chance to just breathe and relax and enjoy our relationship.

Do we have troubles? Yes. Do they manifest? Yes and it can cause stress, but in the end we try to find a way to work through it.

I’m currently staring at the Alpaca plushie my SO got me for Valentine’s Day. Why an Alpaca plush you ask? Because they know how much I love alpacas. Simple and I love it. Even though we had a few fights recently I look at something simple like a plush or a blanket and know that I have someone who knows that a simple gift can mean more to me than anything.

We are currently struggling with money due to a job shift for them and my unemployment (but soon to be employed!!) and that causes issues too, but we aren’t “down and out” yet.

I start my training for my new job on Saturday and I’m excited for it. I’ll be working somewhere I hope is a better fit for me than the big box retail pet store I did work for. I’ll already have better access to being outdoors so getting to decompress will be easier as well as my own mental health. (Which is why I ultimately left my previous job.) Even though it’s part time I’m really happy about it which makes my other half happier too.

I will never go back to the big box pet store location to work ever again. There are good people there but there are plenty of toxic people there too as well as oversight on certain rules and regulations, that even the upper management ignores. If your store makes enough money than that is all they care about it seems. I miss a handful of people there but in the end it’s a strange environment and not worth my health.

If you work somewhere or live somewhere that is negatively impacting your mental health it is okay to quit that job, it is okay to move somewhere else.

Take care of your mental and emotional health first the rest will follow.

I honestly can’t wait to chronicle my adventures in my new job! The manager liked me so much after the interview they told me that I pretty much had a position but they still needed to interview people. Then I was called a day later and told that they wanted to offer me the job. Which I freaked out over because I felt that this was a place I really needed to be at. I don’t know why, but I just feel as if I’m being pulled in this direction.

In the end sometimes a little chaos can bring goodness.
