An Emotional "Level Up"

For well over a year now I have advised my readers to start finding their "emotional tone," meaning holding a more life-affirming emotional stance even though outer circumstances may be chaotic and upsetting. Another way of putting it ... it's time to stop losing your emotional sh*t.

Stop demanding that your "good intentions" justify losing your emotional footing, or that someone else's action demand your emotional "attack."

And that day starts today as Saturn moves to 20° Pisces (at 2:58am ET) and Mars finally stations direct at 17° Cancer (at 8:59pm ET). 17° is a Saturn ruled degree, and given that Saturn also moves to a significant degree means a lot. It means that your ability to feel is expanding. To feel deeper and in more caring ways. But also to feel the many shades of an emotion rather than the top three of happy, sad and angry.

But with that feeling comes great responsibility with how you ACT on those feelings. Actions that must be considered thru the lens of intellectual honesty (the trine between Mercury & Mars), discretion and maturity. Actions that serve your deeper desires AND the greater purpose of your relationships.

Ego has no room in 2025 and beyond. But an ego aligned with heart, aligned with God Universe, and aligned with an aware individual impacting the world ... that's where this new ego belongs.

Pisces Season & Mars Direct

Mars direct on Sunday, Feb. 23, is good news for everyone across the board. It marks an end to the nearly three-month-long period of burnout, hesitation, low-or-no-energy and pervasive ugh feelings. Mars direct means your drive is BACK. There’s no more sluggish, stuck energy. But let’s manage expectations: things won’t suddenly catapult forward come Sunday (as Mars is still in its retrograde shadow and will remain there until April), but this does mark an end to low energy, emotional overwhelm, and lack of confidence oh-so characteristic of Mars Retrograde. So, YAY!

But that’s Sunday, and it’s something you’ll more than likely notice next week. In between now and then, we have the second biggest astrology shift of the week: the Sun moves into Pisces, aka Pisces season begins Feb. 18. This signifies your usual zodiac season shift in priorities and themes. So, wherever Pisces is in your chart is where the themes of self-sacrifice, surrender, heightened creativity, imagination and occasional emotional overwhelm / avoidance will be lit up for the next 30-ish days. This is also the same area of your life where Mercury, Neptune, and the North Node are currently residing and likely causing lots o’ confusion.

Overall, this week asks you to take care—of yourself, of your loved ones, of the complete strangers who need it most. Pisces season encourages compassion and selfless giving; while Mars direct in Cancer helps to unblock the flow of care-driven actions. At least, that’s how we want to work with this astrology. Water signs are emotional, yes, but they are also highly sensitive to the needs of others and are especially adept at healing the hurt and washing away (emotional) debris. Anyway, that’s the gist. mars has been retrograding since august, but is now stationed direct at 8° gemini on january 12, 2023. when mars stations direct, this is the end of the recalibration period for how + where mars is working in our lives. reflect on the last 2.5 months - how have your mindsets developed? how is your relationship with your toxic habits? have you learned to speak up for yourself more? what's your relationship like with the internet these days? mars has been working to bring us into alignment with our motives, our drive, and the way we execute when it comes to how we communicate, what we learn, and what we engage with on a mental basis. if you have been using this retrograde to your advantage, you may be being blessed with a more empowered mindset, toxic ties are being broken, you're no longer settling for less, and confidently exercising that throat chakra.
