Mars direct on Sunday, Feb. 23, is good news for everyone across the board. It marks an end to the nearly three-month-long period of burnout, hesitation, low-or-no-energy and pervasive ugh feelings. Mars direct means your drive is BACK. There’s no more sluggish, stuck energy. But let’s manage expectations: things won’t suddenly catapult forward come Sunday (as Mars is still in its retrograde shadow and will remain there until April), but this does mark an end to low energy, emotional overwhelm, and lack of confidence oh-so characteristic of Mars Retrograde. So, YAY!
But that’s Sunday, and it’s something you’ll more than likely notice next week. In between now and then, we have the second biggest astrology shift of the week: the Sun moves into Pisces, aka Pisces season begins Feb. 18. This signifies your usual zodiac season shift in priorities and themes. So, wherever Pisces is in your chart is where the themes of self-sacrifice, surrender, heightened creativity, imagination and occasional emotional overwhelm / avoidance will be lit up for the next 30-ish days. This is also the same area of your life where Mercury, Neptune, and the North Node are currently residing and likely causing lots o’ confusion.
Overall, this week asks you to take care—of yourself, of your loved ones, of the complete strangers who need it most. Pisces season encourages compassion and selfless giving; while Mars direct in Cancer helps to unblock the flow of care-driven actions. At least, that’s how we want to work with this astrology. Water signs are emotional, yes, but they are also highly sensitive to the needs of others and are especially adept at healing the hurt and washing away (emotional) debris. Anyway, that’s the gist. Here’s the actual astrology:
Feb. 18 – Sun enters Pisces
Feb. 20 – Mercury in Pisces squares Jupiter in Gemini, 11°
Feb. 23 – Mercury in Pisces trine Mars Rx in Cancer, 17°
Feb. 23 – Mars stations Direct in Cancer, 17°
Get the FULL Breakdown of this week's astrology on The Cosmic Almanac:
Anytime planets interact with Uranus, you can expect some disruptions and chaos. When it squares Mercury on Monday? Expect chaotic miscommunications, impulsive ideas, and mental static. When it squares the Sun on Tuesday? Your ego, identity, and self-expression are under electric stress. Then, the Leo Full Moon hits on Wednesday, amplifying the emotional drama and igniting a rebellious urge to burn it all down (or at least make a scene). There are ways you can work with this energy, though.
The Taurus part of your chart (where Uranus is stirring the pot) is the key. This is where something needs a radical shake-up—but instead of clinging to the old, try leaning into the change.
The Leo part of your chart is where you’re feeling the full moon theatrics—the push to be seen, be bold, and take up space.
The Aquarius part of your chart is where logic is colliding with chaos, but tapping into your inner genius for inventive problem-solving solutions will help with this.

Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Cardinal Signs & Fire Signs
Takeaway: as the love planet swaggers through the confident fire sign, this is your call to stop waiting and start doing—because once Venus goes retrograde in March, the cosmos won’t be asking you anymore…
You’ll notice above there are two sets of dates listed for Venus in Aries. That’s because—spoiler alert—we’re heading towards our first Venus Retrograde in almost two years. The love planet last retrograded through Leo (another fire sign) in summer 2023, and this 2025 Venus Retrograde will likely be just as dramatic and intense. I don’t say that to scare you, but to prepare you. Because Venus is what we call in its “detriment” in Aries, which is to say that all the Venus things of life—connection, relationships, social cohesion, love, money, and even social justice—ride the struggle bus. Not just during the retrograde, but before it.
But why, you might ask? Simple: Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of conflict, aggression, ego, and competition. These energies are the antithesis of pacifistic, partner-loving Venus. Aries is me-first. Venus is we-first. Or, to use a music metaphor: Venus loves when all the notes and sounds come together to create harmony; while Aries just wants to shred a solo on the guitar. Thus, the biggest challenge of Venus in Aries is balancing “Me first!” energy with the need for meaningful connection.
Btw, if you want to know exactly what Venus Retrograde has in store for YOUR sign, check out my 2025 Rising Sign Reading. This 15-minute reading on the astrology of 2025 covers Venus Retrograde in Aries, Neptune & Saturn in Aries, and more.
Now, this doesn’t mean Venus in Aries is a terrible transit—in fact, this can be a terrific time for taking action. As the pleasure planet swam through Pisces, it made it easier to find and luxuriate in all the delights that life has to offer. What this eventually shifted into, however, was passivity and lethargy—especially in artistic pursuits and relationships. So, as we got closer to Feb. 3, you may have noticed that inspiration was there—you felt like you wanted to date, wanted to paint or write, wanted to invest in that thing—but a “spark” was missing, initiative was lacking. This ultimately had a narcotic effect on your love life, finances, or creations, putting them to sleep.
With Venus in Aries, that all changes.
Aries is an action-oriented, confident YANG fire sign that wants to get up and go. It wants to do, move, pursue, be challenged, and eventually conquer. With the planet of love and connection swaggering through Aries for the next 1.5 months, it wants you to wake up from the slumber. Be more direct, more confident, and more assertive! Conquer your creative projects! Act on your passions! Be louder, bolder, and more courageous in your style or with your affections. Write the book. Launch the podcast. Kiss first and tell them you LOVE them! This is a time to really lead with your heart and go after what you want. In love. In your art. In finances. And in how you value and appreciate yourself—especially in how you value yourself and what you center your values on.
Because right now, Venus is in its pre-retrograde shadow, so values of all kinds are already under review and conflicts (big or small) might already be surfacing. They’ll be unignorable when Venus stations retrograde in March, and we’ll be knee-deep in a fiery re-evaluation of desires (in relationships, finances, and self-image). But until that time, you want to use this pre-retrograde phase as a time of proactive reflection. Are you putting yourself first in a way that aligns with your values? What desires do you need to take action on right now? How can you prioritize your passions? How can you be bolder in asserting your worth or more confident in expressing your affections?

Uranus Direct in Taurus: Chaos, Change, Wake-Up Calls
What: Uranus direct in Taurus
When: Jan. 30 - July 7, 2025
Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE (seriously, everyone!)
Takeaway: with the outer planet of shake-ups, surprises, and radical change moving forward through the fixed earth sign, it’s charging towards disruptive change and turning the material world on its head.
Change. Disruption. Shake-ups and wake-ups. These are just some of the words I like to use when describing Uranus. Why? Because Uranus is the cosmic rabble rouser and part-time astro-troublemaker who thrives on breaking rules and shattering traditions. Uranus loves to disrupt the status quo, shake up what’s stale, turn things on their head—all in the name of change.
This year, you’re going to be hearing a LOT about Uranus—mostly because the outer planet of chaos is shifting signs for the first time in seven years! Talk about a change, right? And speaking of change…Uranus officially stationed direct on Jan. 30, ending its five-month-long retrograde through Taurus. This is BIG news for all of us, because it means radical change is about to ERUPT.
As I wrote in my article on “Everything YOU Need to Know About Uranus in Taurus: “As the planet of disruption, revolution and innovation, Uranus wants to shake you up, wake you up, and free you from the outdated patterns, relationships, and/or pursuits that have become stagnant. Stagnation, tradition, and the status quo are always prime targets for Uranus’ shocking energy.” You can read the FULL article here: Everything YOU Need to Know about Uranus in Taurus
But when it’s retrograde, that destabilizing, shocking energy doesn’t flow as easily. Of course, that doesn’t mean Uranus stops being Uranus and stops bringing about out-of-blue jolts to your life and the world around us; rather, Uranus retrograde turns much of the rabble-rouser’s energy inward. So, since September, you’ve been reflecting on the disruptions in your life—what they mean, why they came, and what to do next—as well as the lack of stability you may have encountered over the past five months, and where you feel you’re being blocked.
Uranus Direct & Erupting Change
Since September 2024, Uranus has been in retrograde, slow-cooking changes beneath the surface. But now? BOOM. The lid’s off. With Uranus direct, it’s like an alarm clock that suddenly jolts you awake from a deep slumber. As the planet wraps up its reflective retrograde and moves forward, it can erupt change that is at once disruptive, shocking, and destabilizing. It might not happen right away—because there’s still the post-retrograde shadow phase—but you can expect bigger changes to start unfolding.
Collectively, this means radical changes—shifts in structure, economics, technology, and agriculture—are all on the menu. But this impacts you personally too, because Uranus is currently earthquaking the part of your chart ruled by Taurus. So, that shift you’ve been resisting? The change you’ve been avoiding? The quantum leap you’ve been wanting to take, but haven’t actually taken because it’s…well, radical and (seemingly) ridiculous? It’s here. And it’s demanding your attention.
🚀 How’s Uranus shaking up your life? Let’s talk in the comments!

Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Aquarius and the other Fixed Signs & Air Signs
Takeaway: with the mind planet (and astrological megaphone) in the progressive air sign, you’re beginning a new three-week-long journey of innovation, creativity, and curiosity.
What this mental shift means for YOU
New mindset, new results. That’s the M.O. of Mercury in Aquarius. Well, that and innovation. When the mind planet enters progressive Aquarius, our collective focus hyper-fixates on innovating, especially in technology. So you can imagine my un-surprise when I was watching the news and saw on Monday, Jan. 27, just mere hours before Mercury officially entered Aquarius and officially conjoined Pluto, it was reported that the Nvidia stock plummeted. Why? Well, China released DeepSeek, their version of an AI chatbot; and apparently, it’s faster, better, and more energy efficient than ChatGPT.
My favorite headline from the news: “Tech stocks fall as China’s DeepSeek sparks U.S. worries about AI race”. There are soooo many Mercury in Aquarius themes in that story—news media is ruled by Mercury, too, btw—but the last bit of that title circles us back to my lede. With Mercury moving through Aquarius, the premise is simple: new mindset = new results. The U.S. now has an official AI competitor, and unless they get a new mindset (ie: innovate), they might just come in second place in this Age of Aquarius AI race.
As I wrote about in my weekly forecast, the Mercury-Pluto conjunction might “reveal some shadowy truths about power, control, wealth…” While this news about AI isn’t shadowy, it is uncloaking the truth about who now holds the power in the tech race and the decimating impact it’s having on tech stocks; in typical Mercury form, the megaphone planet is amplifying this new AI power struggle. As my second favorite news story reports: “Meta is…scrambling ‘war rooms’ of engineers to figure out how DeepSeek’s AI is beating everyone else at a fraction of the price”. Technology. Innovation. Robots. Engineers. Artificial Intelligence. Those are ALL Aquarius SEO keywords, and Mercury is lighting them up.

In 2025, we have not one, not two, but three outer planets changing signs. This doesn’t just signify major changes for the collective, it also means we’re moving into a period of culmination and reckoning, before starting things afresh. And it’s all thanks to the anaretic and critical degrees. Like dominoes falling one by one, Neptune, Saturn, and Uranus (finally) skip out of Pisces & Taurus, and move into Aries & Gemini. As each planet leaves their sign and enters another, they move into both the 29th and the 0 degrees, two degrees that are linked to the chaotic endings and beginnings of new cycles.
Let’s not fear the astrology. Instead, be proactive.
Work with the Astrology of 2025 with a 2025 Birth Chart Reading & the 2025 Rising Sign Reading. These invaluable astrological resources will help you stay on top of the bigger planetary shifts so that YOU can navigate the year with ease.
The 29th degree is a degree of finality; when planets move through this degree, there’s an overall sense of needing to cross the finish line to get to the other side, but to cross that finish line, you must reckon with something, wrap things up. In other words, the planet’s mission isn’t yet complete, and the unresolved “tasks” are coming to a head. It’s equal parts cliffhanger and boiling point. I’ve also heard that planets at the 29th degree carry a fair bit of fatigue with them. Which makes sense because the planet has moved through the sign, and learned nearly all of the lessons. Except for one.
When planets enter the 29th degree, they also carry a sense of urgency. It’s as though the planet is “cramming” before a final exam, frantically trying to wrap up its final lessons before transitioning into the next sign. That’s why there’s a pervasive feeling of pressure to resolve issues or make significant decisions. That’s why there’s fatigue, anxiety, and a bit of dread. The 29th degree is an anaretic degree, and the term anaretic is derived from the Greek word anareta meaning “destroyer” or “bringer of necessity.” In traditional astrology, the anaretic degree was often associated with challenging circumstances, indicating a sense of urgency or crisis that demanded resolution. Once you resolve the “crisis,” you move on—or, in this case move into the next sign.
We saw Pluto move into the anaretic degree of Capricorn in late 2024, near the time of the election; and there was a heavy fatigue in the country. We were tired of politics, tired of the “same” government, tired of the Pluto in Capricorn way of the world: rich people getting richer, life being too costly for the rest of us…Tired, tired, tired. With that transit, there was a chance to reckon with reality, to look at our past, our traditions, our patriarchal proclivities, and change. Yet even amidst our fatigue, so many voted to return to the old guard.
In May of 2024, Neptune moved into the Anaretic degree of Pisces, marking a major moment of transition that ultimately led to more collective delusion. On Jan. 11, the North Node moved into Pisces, and the South Node moved into Virgo. Both were at the 29th degree. Nodes are the points where eclipses happen, so they’re a big deal when looking at the overarching storyline (ie: themes) of an 18-month period. With the Nodes still in the 29th degree of those two signs, we’re seeing checks, balances, and systems heedlessly discarded (South Node in Virgo) as we’re hurling fast towards chaos (North Node in Pisces). The good news? The nodes move out of the 29th degree on Jan. 25. The not-so-good-news? The themes of chaos vs. order, and systems vs. the unknown will be activated in a BIG way during 2025 eclipse seasons.

How Saturn, Neptune & Uranus Are Shifting Everything in 2025
Happy MLK Day! Since last week’s Cancer full moon, Aquarius season has begun. TikTok was banned in the U.S. for about 10 hours before it was resuscitated. (Not that I freaked out or anything.) Oh, and I don’t know if you’ve heard the other news (ie: read your Aquarius Season Horoscopes), but there’s also a sinister era-defining, once-every-248-year Pluto Cazimi in Aquarius. And that’s just on Tuesday. The rest of this week’s astrology sees swaths of activity swirling around plans, commitments and follow-throughs. You may also expect to see some surprise actions, changes in direction, unexpected connections, and a brief but nonetheless potent moment for heightened emotional connection, sensitivity, and care.
But I’m sure you’re more curious about the Pluto cazimi—I know I am. A cazimi puts a planet “in the heart” of the Sun, which basically means two things: 1) that planet gets a reboot, like a new season of a sitcom—it’s the same characters, same location, but different plot twists are about to unfold; and 2) the Sun shines a light on the story that planet is already telling. With the Sun conjunct Pluto (Pluto cazimi), the Sun is bringing to the surface all of Pluto’s hidden power, wealth, and influence, illuminating the pre-existing Pluto in Aquarius storyline of supremacy (read: corruption, collapse, and regeneration) through technology.
How I see this Pluto Cazimi most obviously taking shape right now is: the mob of billionaire tech bros (Musk, Zuck, Bezos, and all the Crypto enthusiasts) saddled up to Trump. These guys aren’t just attending the U.S. Inauguration on Jan. 20, they have courtside seats, and they are the same techno-crypto fat cats who either lined Trump’s pockets to helped him get elected (looking at you, Musk), or simply “donated” millions to Trump’s Inauguration Ball. Either way, they used some of their massive wealth and influence (Pluto) to fund a powerful leader (the Sun).
The billionaire tech giants literally own social media; they own the platforms through which swaths of people receive their news and/or spend the majority of their time doomscrolling. So, the Pluto Cazimi is shining a light on that. It’s very plainly saying to the people, to the collective (which is what Aquarius rules): these few, wealthy bros who are already in power, want more power. Over tech. Over government. And probably over you. Remember: Pluto is power. It is influence, massive wealth and hidden riches; and it can describe both the people who wield such things and the destructive force therein. Because Pluto is destructive. It’s also regenerative, typifying the whole death-and-rebirth cliche.
Pluto transits can take us to a dark place, decimating and demolishing to eventually rebuild. They also encourage us to compost the dark, decayed, mucky feelings that are getting in the way of growth and transformation. So, on a personal level—as in, for you as a person who is part of the collective—this Pluto cazimi is a chance to think about how much of your power you’ve given over to tech, to social media, or to other destructive forces in your life. And how you can transform. Not right this second—not even next week, but slowly over time.

Takeaway: days after the Sun enters the innovative air sign, it aligns with the planet of power and transformation, marking a moment of collective catharsis and personal metamorphosis.
Bye-bye, Capricorn! The Sun is leaving behind the serious, goal-oriented vibes of the Goat and zooming into the quirky, rebellious air sign Aquarius. From Jan. 19 - Feb. 18, Aquarius season brings a surge of independence, innovation, and a bit of chaos (in the best way possible—I think. I hope.). Aquarius is very much the groovy, peace-and-love advocate who’s organizing community sit-ins, brainstorming utopian solutions, and questioning everything about “the system.” So, during Aquarius season we’re summoning our inner hippie, thinking about social progress and experimentation, and challenging the status quo.
Yes, Aquarius is the Water Bearer, but it’s an air sign, and its season is all about innovative (read: revolutionary) ideas, friendly debate, and even friendlier collaboration. Aquarius stabilizes the groundwork Capricorn season laid—just not in a straight-laced way. Like an engineer or (mad) scientist, Aquarius season wants you to analyze previously built goals—career, relationship, life—in order to see what is and what isn’t working. Aquarius wants to rebel, revolt, and challenge the system.
This year, Aquarius season starts with a bang: the Pluto Cazimi on Jan. 21. A cazimi occurs when a planet aligns exactly with the Sun, creating a powerful fusion of energies. (It’s similar to a New Moon, and serves as a reset for the planet in question.) This isn’t just a regular Pluto moment, though—it’s the first Pluto Cazimi in Aquarius in 248 years. Yeah, you read that right—TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-EIGHT YEARS. (Cue dramatic screaming.) So, the last time this happened, wigs were powdered, revolutions were brewing, and people were getting fed up with a power-hungry monarchy.
Work with this Pluto Cazimi with a 2025 Astrology Birth Chart Reading
Now, if you’re (somehow) unfamiliar, Pluto is the planet of transformation, power, hidden riches and shadowy secrets, and when it cozies up to the Sun, it gets a massive power boost. It’s like a reset button, shining a light on hidden truths, especially around wealth, influence, and technology. With this cazimi happening in Aquarius, the sign of rebellion and innovation, the message is clear: it’s time to shake up the system. Lately, we’ve seen Pluto in Aquarius themes popping up everywhere: conversations about democracy, oligarchies, tech-industrial complexes, TikTok bans, and the role of the collective in shaping the future. This Pluto Cazimi is like a spotlight on all of that, but it is also a stark—albeit subtle—reminder who really holds power. So, it’s a loud alarm bell to the masses (aka us). We need to wake up, because we have wayyyy more say than we often realize.
That the U.S. has Inauguration Day on / near the onset of Aquarius season every four years is a reminder of the zodiac season’s connection to democracy and the people; the President, who is elected by the people, is sworn in to serve the people. Plain and simple. That’s what large-scale Aquarius is about: the people, the masses, the collective. Occurring at 1 degree Aquarius, the Pluto Cazimi on Jan. 21 (the day after inauguration day) is indeed an ominous astrological event. When the god of the underworld (Pluto) meets up with Sol in this way, it is both an opportunity for rebirth and empowerment—for society, for the people—as much as it is a wink-wink moment from astrology saying, “guess who’s really in power?”

What: North & South Nodes move into Pisces & Virgo
When: Jan. 11, 2025
Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Pisces, Virgo and the other Mutable Signs
Takeaway: with the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo, we're striving towards compassion and trusting the flow, while leaving behind inflexibility and excessive perfectionism. The rub? Not losing our critical thinking abilities to fantastical escapism.
Every 18-ish months, the Nodes shift into new zodiac signs. This is cosmic code for a brand-new collective focus. Come Jan. 11, the Nodes are shifting out of Aries & Libra, and into a more changeable, more fickle, and more chaotic storyline: the Pisces-Virgo axis. This new axis is about balancing surrender with order, intuition with logic, and chaos with structure. And let me tell you, it’s not gonna be boring.
For us personally, the North Node shows where we’re suddenly insatiably hungry for more—more growth, more experiences, more everything. (It’s called the “head of the dragon” for a reason. Dragons are always hungry.) Meanwhile, the South Node—the “tail of the dragon”—is sweeping away old habits, behaviors, and tendencies that no longer serve us. And because the Nodes operate as a pair, they’re always in opposition, which means they’re constantly reminding us: BALANCE is key. But balancing striving (I need this now!) with shedding (do I even need this anymore?)? That’s not exactly easy.
With dreamy, boundless Pisces leading the charge, the vibe is all about surrender—to the unknown, to your feelings (ugh), and to the chaos. (Because as much as I’m not fear-mongering here, I want to be honest: there WILL be chaos in 2025.) Meanwhile, Virgo, the ultimate perfectionist, is here to remind you that structure and precision aren’t entirely the enemy. But maybe too-high expectations, perfectionism, and self-doubt are.

Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Aquarius and the other Air & Fixed signs.
Takeaway: The planet of ease, pleasure, and sweetness moves into the friendship-and-future-focused air sign, bringing a breeze of eccentric inventiveness to your relationships, creativity, and wallet.
For the past four or so weeks, Venus in Capricorn had you appreciating and prioritizing productivity, enterprise, and material things. But guess what? The time of being all businesslike in your relationships, austere with your affections, and stoically spendthrift-y is O-V-E-R! Venus in Aquarius is here, and it’s urging YOU to crank up your curiosity and get ready to get weird.
By now you probably know that Venus is the planet of love, beauty, values, money, creativity, and pleasure. You probably also know that Aquarius—an air sign—is as logical as it is emotionally cool, friendly as it is funny, and often shockingly (and endearingly?) bold in its weirdness. However, to get a better understanding of Venus in Aquarius’ vibe, I present to you the following case study: Sporty Spice.
The singer has Venus in Aquarius, and she was definitely the quirkiest of all the Spice Girls. Baby Spice had that “I’m a baby, gotta love me thing” going on, Posh was well, posh, and Scary and Ginger Spice both looked like contestants on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Each of those four chicks had that platform-heeled, long hair, beauty thing going for them—but Sporty Spice was different.
Sporty Spice stood out from the crowd. She was a little androgynous, a little masculine, and very unique. Instead of platforms, she wore sneakers; and in place of figure-hugging mini dresses and coiffed hair, Sporty Spice wore sports bras, track pants, and ponytails. This is big Venus in Aquarius energy. Not the whole Adidas tracksuits and high-ponies thing; no, I’m talking about leaning into your uniqueness, your innate eccentricity.
Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Fixed signs & Fire signs.
Takeaway: the planet of courage, motivation, and conflict backpedals through the confident Lion, encouraging a reexamination of our energies, confidence, and self-assertion.
Mars Retrograde in Leo highlights where your pride, ego, and assertiveness (or lack thereof) might be getting in the way of your personal growth.
If you are a Leo, Aries, or Scorpio, or you have significant placements in Leo, particularly the Moon, Mars, or Ascendant (#me), then you probably already know this is a significant transit for you. Even if you’re not a Leo, or you don’t have any Leo placements, you might already be noticing a shift in your physical energy, moving from ra-ra motivation and supercharged passion to…fatigue, lethargy, and/or disinterest; or maybe your energy levels feel good, but the pace of life, the speed at which things are happening, are frustratingly slow.
That’s the thing about Mars in Leo: this transit and chart placement wants what it wants when it wants it, and it has a tremendous strength of will to make that happen...Mars in Leo puts forth an enormous amount of focused, fervent effort towards a goal and expects to get it, to achieve it, to receive applause and a bright Gold Star for it simply because Mars in Leo willed it so.
But during Mars Retrograde, strength of will, passion, and self-confidence get put on pause. Instead of forcefully forging ahead—ie: passionately pouncing on goals like a lion in the jungle—you’re encouraged to rewind, reflect, and refine your why. Why are you chasing that goal? Why are you putting so much effort, energy, concentration, or creativity into that relationship? That project? That career path?
I write about this in my 2025 Astrology Guide, but the mission of Mars in Leo is to align your ambition and actions with the true desires of your heart. It sounds a bit woo-woo and cheesy, I know, but Leo actually rules the heart. So, Leo is driven by the desires of the heart, and finds motivation when pursuing a goal that leads to something more than just praise and attention.

Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE (seriously), but esp. Mutable signs & Fire signs
Takeaway: An energetic rebirth that’s sure to get your boots jangling, this new moon urges YOU to buck your limits, recalibrate your goals, and aim higher than ever.
Yee-haw! Saddle up cowgirl (or cowboy / cow-person), grab your lasso and chaps, and get ready to roundup your most audacious ambitions. On Nov. 30 (or Dec. 1 depending on where you’re at), the Sun and Moon align for a momentary (and metaphorical) rebirth in fiery, broncobustin’ Sagittarius. This ain’t our first lunar rodeo, but it’s dang-near our last, which isn’t that shocking, since the year is nearly over. Speaking of which…

The good news: this 2024 Sagittarius new moon is aligning with Mars in Leo (which is about to station retrograde). This (loose) trine to Mars gives the new moon extra oomph, enthusiasm, and an overall vibe of being as fine as a frog hair split four ways—which is to say, it’s an excellent astrological marker for infusing your intentions with extra energy and confidence. If 2024 has thus far left you feeling rode hard and put up wet (ie: you’re tired and weary), then let this new moon recharge your batteries and rekindle your passion. Let it remind you how important it is to be fully invested in what you’re chasing—to really believe in your goal—so you can get back in the saddle and feel confident.
You might also want to consider going further, farther, and bigger with your intentions on this new moon. Why? Because Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius is all about going big or going home. Sagittarius is also the half-man, half-horse arrow-shooting Archer; and like any skilled archer (or sharpshooting horse-human hybrid), you’ve got to aim higher than your target if you want to actually hit your target. So, if you want a new job, don’t limit yourself to the same jobs as before—go bigger. And if you want a new direction for your life, go bigger, bolder, and higher than where you are right now.

Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Taurus and the other fixed signs.
Takeaway: An electrifying conclusion, shocking disruption, or groundbreaking culmination of the things you’ve been building since May 7, 2024.
Friday’s full moon might just change everything. That’s right, the 11th full moon of 2024—this one in the fertile, stable, security-loving earth sign Taurus—is a big, loud, potentially disruptive full moon that wants you, me, and everyone else to wake up and do things differently. Yes, Taurus is the sign of exaltation for the Moon (meaning the Moon really loves being in the fixed sign), but you shouldn’t expect this full moon to be nice and easy.
Why? Well, the 2024 Taurus full moon is conjoining rabble-rouser Uranus (also in Taurus), which is just about to perfect its headline-making opposition to the Sun in Scorpio. Tbh, I feel like we’ve been seeing the effects of this full moon / Uranus-Sun opposition play out in politics, with the recent Trump cabinet nomination of Matt Gaetz (a Taurus) for Attorney General. That nomination has been deemed “controversial,” “shocking,” and poetically likened to a “thunderclap”—all of which are astro-SEO keywords for Uranus. (Btw, Uranus is the planet of shock, awe, controversy, and unexpected news.)
But there’s another shocking element to this full moon that has nothing to do with politics: it is the LAST TIME we will see Uranus conjoining a full moon in Taurus in our lifetimes. Why? Because next year, Uranus moves into Gemini. It moves back into Taurus in Nov. 2025, and stays there until April 2026, but we won’t see a Uranus in Taurus conjoining a Taurus full moon again in 84 years! Ditto for the dreamy sextile from Neptune in Pisces and the loose trine being made to the full moon from Pluto in Capricorn.
Pluto enters Aquarius FOR GOOD on Nov. 19, thus marking the official 20-year foray into robo-land and AI rulership. (Just kidding. I hope.) While in March of 2025, Neptune moves into Aries, a sign it hasn’t been in since the Civil War era. Btw, if you want to know the MAJOR significance of Uranus in Gemini—and all the other MAJOR astrological shifts of 2025—and what they all mean for YOU, check out my 2025 astrology workshop, 2025 guide, & 2025 birth chart reading. Your love & money horoscope
Remember Venus in Sagittarius? Well, the careless spending and hapless flirting we’ve enjoyed during the love planet’s travels through the fire sign are soon to be a thing of the past. On Nov. 11, Venus, the planet of love and money, moved into conscientious Capricorn, where it will stay until Dec. 7. If you’ve begun to notice yourself prioritizing work over play, then you’re already seeing how Venus in Capricorn is unfolding.
Ruled by Saturn, the stern planet of limits, Capricorn doesn’t like to waste time on anything. Because time is money. So, when Venus, the planet of money, transits this economical and organized earth sign, you can bet money—particularly the investment and/or earning of—will be on your mind. So too will relationship regulations. Indeed, Venus in Capricorn sees us seeking the rules of a situation, be it friendly, familial, creative or romantic. When? Where? How? And why? During this time, we want to know the limits, the confines, the expectations and the desired outcome before we get too invested in anything.

Now, this doesn’t mean Venus in Capricorn isn’t a romantic transit, because it definitely has the potential of being so. In fact, even though it is the penultimate sign of practicality and pragmatism, Capricorn is also highly sensual; it loves good food, fine wine, luxurious perfumes and designer duds, but it prefers to delay those gratifications. To Venus in Capricorn, the best pleasures are the ones you’ve earned. That said, Venus in Capricorn also sets a pretty high bar for romance. Rather than hooking up with anyone who breathes, we’ll save our interest for the people, parties, and things we believe are worth the wait.
While it’s known (infamous?) for being materialistic, Venus in Capricorn isn’t a time when we’re spending cash like it’s going out of style. No, Venus in Capricorn instead inspires fiscal and relational conservatism. In plain English, that means: Rather than splurging on flashy trinkets, wasting your time on flirty thrills with jobless poets, or fleeting from one creative project to the next, Venus in Capricorn urges you to save your cash, budget your affections for those who deserve them, and guard against wastefulness in all forms.

Takeaway: a feisty, fabulous, me-first strut for the planet of action; it’s time for your passion, courage, and confidence to roar loudly and with pride.
My initial plan for this horoscope was to post it as a sort of rah-rah victory cry after the election, because Mars in Leo feels oh-so victorious to me—it’s a feisty, fiery transit full of pride, passion, and so much confidence. In truth, there are large numbers of people who do in fact feel victorious and proud today (some might also be feeling confident, if not smug). I am not one of those people. I wanted, hoped and voted for a different outcome for this election. I wanted the victory, pride and passion to be for / about the first woman president, the trust in women, the promise of tomorrow, and a new way forward. That didn’t happen. I went to bed shook and shell shocked, and sooo not confident.
It snowed roughly six inches last night, so I woke to a gray, cloudless sky. No sunshine, no warmth, and no light other than the glaring white of the snow. Doom scrolling sucked me in early this morning; countless minutes I spent on my phone and computer, reading about election results and various news stories about the fate and future of America. I hopped from one platform to the next, hoping to find a nugget of wisdom, truth or reassurance, hoping to read a post—read another person’s words telling me it was all going to be OK. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, which made me feel heavier, made the day and world outside seem even darker.
To escape the doomscroll, I went outside. I shoveled the sidewalks and our driveway, grunting in frustration as I scooped heap after heap of heavy white fluff. Hands cold, nose running, and body aching slightly, I kept on shoveling. Why? I needed to clear a path. That was my aim, that was my goal: to clear away the snow, to keep going until the path was clear.
I found relief in this, to be fully in my body and fully away from the news feeds, away from the chatter, away from my own spiraling thoughts of an uncertain future. In this state—cold with spirits dashed, focusing body and mind on the removal of the snow, I felt momentarily freed and momentarily aware. This is what Mars in Leo is really about, I thought, it’s a transit for doing something with the anger, grief, frustration and fear, releasing the heat in a constructive way…
Because the truth is—even if your chosen candidate won last night—we won’t always feel victorious; we won’t always feel like the winner. Any time we have a goal that feels impossible or insurmountable we run the risk of losing; it is humbling and infuriating to lose. But each time you lose, you gain another opportunity to win. As someone who has their natal Mars in Leo, I understand this transit’s deeper message, its inner yearning and tougher lessons. One of those lessons is dealing with loss. Losing can feel like a personal attack, an insult to our ego and pride; humility is not something Leo loves to suffer through. But stewing in feelings of insult and fury don’t do us any good.
That said, Mars in Leo can help us channel our fuming funerial feelings—the anger / grief / frustration, the loss—into a new goal, a new purpose, a new way forward. To win, we have to first feel the bite of loss; we have to feel those stings to our pride and our purpose, we have to be humbled, and we have to honor our anger by listening to what, exactly, we are angry about. And then we have to do something about all of that. Humbled, but no less determined, we have to use our feelings of pain and frustration, our sadness, disappointment, and anger as fuel towards the next achievement. Not from a place of revenge, but from a place of purpose. Purpose to do better, purpose to clear a path and to do some good.
Mars in Leo wants to act, wants to propel a goal or movement forward. But it also encourages us to have faith—faith in ourselves and faith in tomorrow, to roar with confidence and to give confidence to those who need it. Leo is ruled by the Sun, and the Sun is a shining beacon of promise. We wake up everyday knowing the sun will shine. Again. Again. We wake up knowing we will feel the warmth of the Sun again. So that’s what I hope you take away from Mars in Leo. Mars in Leo is resolute. It is strategic, focused, and forceful. It teaches us the strength of our power, our courage, and our resolve; it also underscores the importance of leading proudly, boldly and with so much light. As I was writing this, Vice President Kamala Harris gave her concession speech, and she talked about this light, saying: “The light of America’s promise will always burn bright, as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting.” So, that is what we all must do: never give up and keep fighting. Proudly, boldly, and with a clear purpose for good.
