• when did I start shipping it~

That would be during my first watch of the anime in late 2017, when the enemy/rival tension was just too delicious. Past the soggy foot massage, there were just so many parallels regarding their thinking and their singular minds, how they worked together and their begrudging admiration.

•my thoughts~

Enemies to lovers = hot and fun. A fav trope.

•what makes me happy about them~

My favorite absolute favorite AUs are where L comes to see Kira’s POV and joins him. Is that twisted? Whelp yes but there’s no accounting for taste, pfft.

•what makes me sad about them~

That they were never able to reach each other in canon to prevent L’s death. That Light missed L to the day he died, and no one ever lived up to L in Light’s mind.

•things that are done in fanfic that annoy me~

Tbh I refuse to complain about other writers’ takes and prefs on characters. Let people write what they like and find their own audience. I’m more interested in supporting creators even if their ideas differ from mine.

•things I look for in fanfic~

An interesting story that I could see the characters actually living out and responding to. Something I feel the fanfic author has thought about or felt deeply. Beautiful prose.

•who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with if not each other~

I’m a multi-shipper but Lawlight is always my OTP. I can’t really imagine L with anyone other than Beyond, if not Light. For Light, I could see him with Mikami, Ryuk, or Beyond. I could see Light having a fling with Mello as an indulgence.

•my happily ever after for them~

Joining forces and sailing off into the sunset, ignoring INTERPOL and ruling the world together on mutual terms

•who is the big spoon/little spoon~

I think Light is usually the big spoon but they switch off when Light needs some cuddling and care

•what is their favorite non-sexual activity

Tennis, chess, solving cases together, or just talking about anything. I see them very much as eternally curious about the opinions of the other on stuff from dumb sitcoms to world politics to economics and literature.
