He sighs when he hears the knocking on the door, and it’s not a conversation he’s in any kind of a mood to deal with presently. “Who can it be, knocking at my door?” It’s painfully sarcastic. He already knows who it is and why Martha is here.

Jason shifted nervously on his feet before moving further into the room. He settled on one of the seats by the window, not quite meeting his grandmother's gaze.
He thought he could do this. Had been thinking about it for weeks once he knew, but now that he was here... Jason had no idea how to broach the subject with anyone else. Had no idea how they would react, and despite Willis being dead for years now, Jason could still hear his booming voice condemning, cursing...
But his grandmother? She was safe. He could talk to her... no matter how terrifying it was. ''There's this girl in school,'' he started, ''and I like her, y'know? Took her to the movies and everything, and she likes me too, I guess. But there's...''
Jason's voice broke, drifting off, and he flushed a bright red. He couldn't do this. What if she didn't approve? What if they would take Robin? And kick him out...

“ yeah, plus it won’t be as fun without... uh, anyway -- i’m looking forward to the seder. it’s been forever since i last saw you and Bruce. ” after a beat, she wrapped her arms around Martha, burying her head into her shoulder. a poor attempt at hiding how much she missed her mother and sister, how much it ate her inside. “ love you, Auntie.... ”
