When I first read this book I was so annoyed at this random guy just showing up and getting in the way of Mel and Abe because like where the fuck did you even come from and why do you act like you have some type of history with Melissa ?? I basically felt the same way about him Erik did and I still can’t bring myself to condemn him for killing Genis because yeah you’re NOT part of the team, why are you acting like that ? I’m glad Genis didn’t hold it against him because he really had no right to considering what he was up to like a month before he joined the T-Bolts 🤨

I still remember how irritated I was when he took Monica's code name and she DIDN'T beat the shit out of him !! I don't even know why I was so mad but I specifically remember being pissed that Monica said something along the lines of "ahh I can't stay mad at that smile" or whatever lmao

There's something about Genis that just brings out the worst in people idk you just have to get to know him and then you find out that he's even worse than you initially thought but you also kinda start feeling bad for him and that's when the endless torment kicks in

#I didn't even remember him being in the og run I was so focused on Karla and Moonhawk it took me years to realize that that's the same guy #I just kinda ignored him the first few times I read Thunderbolts but then it pissed me off so bad that he seemed to have some connection #to Melissa and I had NO idea what it was so I was like fine ig I'll read a few of his books for context #at that point my hate for him had turned into general indifference #has ANYONE ever liked him at first glance #like has anyone ever read a book with him in it and was like “oh he seems like a cool and fun character”#or is this something you genuinely have to do to yourself #sometimes my old hate towards him stirs up again because fym “I can keep one eye on the universe and one on you”#you don't know her !!#get away from her !!!#he's still my son but I also hate him #genis vell #marvel titans #marvel comics

To add to my Imperial au (au where Elysius is behind Imperial and her, Genis and Phyla - who is revived looking the way she did in Storm - fight the Marvels):

I don't think Elysius' main motivation should be revenge. She should absolutely be bitter and angry at the universe for taking her family from her and replacing them but her main goal should be getting her family back together and REBUILDING TITAN !! Because outside of Paraxis she's never known another home and it was also the place where her and Mar-Vell's love grew and where she lost him.

She was created for conquest. She knows how to play politics and orchestrate wars. She should use that skill to manipulate the inhumans into exacting her plan for her and through some space politics stuff this should help her to get the right legitimacy and power and money and whatnot to repair her home (and become a part of intergalactic politics as a recognized state) because let's be real, no state is going to rebuild an entire moon out of the goodness of their hearts (and if she gets to take the throne from Mar-Vell's only "real" kid who replaced her children and succeeded in the wake of their failure then so be it).

#I elaborated on this more on tiktok #I've been so focused on the revenge aspect of her motivations but honestly I don't think that's perfectly in character for her #I think I've been projecting my own feelings about how the Titans and specifically Genis and Phyla have been treated onto her lmao #this should still be a factor definitely but I actually think that her starting this whole thing BECAUSE her children returned is better #she finally has a reason to start rebuilding but not the resources or allies it would take #so she works on a plan a person created for conquest would #and exacts it with her kids #she does it FOR them and Mentor and Eros and Mar-Vell !!#I think that the rage and jealousy aspect should mainly fall to Phyla #because she came back looking like a corpse only to find out the love of her life replaced her #and Genis should just have decided that being a superhero is pointless and he's going to start looking out for the people he loves now #I'm going to have this all thought out in a few weeks trust me #elysius of titan #phyla vell #genis vell #marvel titans #marvel comics
