It's been nearly twenty years since the MCU started and I'm still annoyed at how SHIELD is portrayed in the movies. It makes them look like heroes, so casual fans never believe me when I tell them about all the heinous shit SHIELD has done in the comics. Like when they literally tried to enslave X-23 AKA Laura from Logan and make her into an unwilling assassin. Or how they blackmailed Tony Stark into trying to talk the Avengers into revealing their identities, making them (SHIELD) directly responsible for the Civil War arc.
Then when you tell the casuals to read the comics and see for themselves they get offended and call you an elitist asshole. How is it exactly that someone is an elitist asshole because they read the freaking books?
