my cousins friend was really drunk last night as we drove him home and I mentioned Thor at some point and he says “I bet Thor gives mad cuddles. Like he’s so good at the cuddles.” and you know what? he’s so right.

A PSA to all marvel/thor fans
If your a marvel fan I’m guessing you know the Norse tales via the Thor series right? Yeah well, they totally got the genealogy part of it very wrong. Thor and Loki are not brothers at all. Loki's mother is Laufey (hence the last name of marvel's loki), who is a jötunn (a giant) and his father is Fárbauti, another jötunn. Thor's father is of course Odin, and his mother is Jorð, which is literally the personification of the earth. Some even go to say that Loki is one of Odin's many uncles. So if your in the marvel fandom please, stop referring to Loki as Thor's brother when you are talking about the actual mythology.
Hello. I accept your surrender
Loki aka Tom Hiddleton is bae idgaf what anyone says
Just realized that, in the movies, it is very likely that Asgard knew that Loki wasn't a true prince. What society wouldn't notice that the queen was pregnant?
So now I'm curious. Did they think he was just Odin's illegitimate son or did they just think he was an orphan from one of the other realms? And in either case, why didn't Loki know? I'm assuming, in Asgardian society, that teasing is a thing. I mean, look at how he was treated for being the younger brother.
Also, can't say that there isn't gossip among the Asgardians.
This kind of makes Odin's decision to keep the truth from Loki even more painful. Because some kid would have said "My father says you're not really a prince, just a cast off that Odin took pity on!" and he would have suffered for his words, but the relationship it seems Loki and his parents (At least Frigga) have is one where he would have talked about this.
And they brushed it off.
I can understand wanting to protect him from feeling less loved because he was adopted, but damn. This would have solved so many issues.
Oh well, for the plot to have worked, I suppose it as necessary.
