Lindsay had just gotten home from work not too long ago and knew that even though Declan left the station early he was heading down to the tattoo shop for an appointment someone had scheduled with him thus causing her to decide to go across the street to the burger place she was shamelessly obsessed with to get herself some dinner. Â The detective stood at the elevator watching the numbers ping down until it got to the third floor where her apartment was. Not that it would be hers for long as she was just in the middle of getting everything packed and ready to be moved upstairs to Declanâs apartment. Since theyâd gotten together she spent most nights there anyway, it only made sense they utilize his space rather than hers, the view was so much nicer from the fourteenth floor.Â
The elevator doors opened and she smiled seeing who she thought was her fiance. âWell this is a nice surprise.â Lindsay smiled and stepped inside and wrapped her arms up around the manâs tall frame as the doors closed. She was just about to lean in for a kiss when she looked into his eyes and instantly realized the man she had her body pressed up against was not Declan. Her eyes quickly shifted down to his arm and while it was mostly covered by his long sleeves she could see his wrist and the lack of mountains adorning it. The brunetteâs jaw dropped and she quickly stepped back. She felt the heat flush over her cheeks in both embarrassment and anger that Mason was in her presence. She knew if that ever happened it wouldnât be pretty.Â
âOkay, I take that back. This is most definitely NOT a nice surprise.â She clenched her jaw, crossing her arms over her chest. Suddenly she couldnât wait for the elevator ride to be over. âWhat the fuck are you doing here?â She knew that Mason would have no idea who she was but given the awkward encounter that had just transpired she was sure he could take a wild guess. The glare that was directed towards him wasnât something she could hide even if she wanted to. Did Declan know his twin was here? He would have told her if he had run into him, though, wouldnât he? So maybe she could chase the football player away and save him the trouble of having to even see his brother since by the way he spoke about him she didnât foresee Declan ever wanting Mason  to just show up like this.Â
