MATERIAL LIGHT OPENING Tracing Back at the opening of the Material Light exhibition. TRACING BACK
Theproject traces back the history of the Armenian Diaspora to Greece in the 1920's. The fundamental referent of the project is my family archive. I recreated images taken from my family's collection and placed them in specific locations related to thesettlement period of the Armenian refugees.
MATERIAL LIGHT
Rather than causing the death of analogue photography, the dominance of digital media has recently increased interest in analogue and historical processes amongst image makers and artists. This exhibition explores the fallout from the collision of these two worlds through the work of artists for whom the photographic image is the main point of departure.
Curation: Allan Parker & Constanza Isaza Martinez. EXHIBITION CONTINUES NOVEMBER 8th – 30th The Project SpaceDept. of Photography University of Westminster.
