Supply Run Gone Wrong // Closed
Slamming the door to his dark green 1970 Chevelle shut behind him with an irritated huff, Gabriel Novak hiked his jacket collar up higher over his ears and trudged through the light downpour and towards the convenient store in front of him.
It had been a regular salt ‘n burn for the Novak brothers, an easy clean up aside from the bruised cheek and ribs Gabriel had sustained keeping the ghost distracted while his little brother, Castiel, took care of the bones. And while the bruise wasn’t anything compared to the other injuries the hunter had sustained over the years, it was enough to spark another fight between the brothers over the elders' recklessness.
Ever since Gabriel had sold his soul to save his little brothers life six months ago, things between them had been floating from strained to suffocating. Cas was still under the belief that he could save him, and Gabriel was at the point where he didn’t care anymore. He was going to Hell in six months time, and nothing short of a miracle beyond their pay grade could stop it.
After the fight, and after they had checked into the motel of the week, Gabriel had taken the Chevelle and sped out with a mumbled ‘supply run’ as an explanation, but the bigger intent was to blow off some steam. He didn’t want to fight with his brother, not when he was so close to his end game. They both could use the space.
The rain had picked up in the ten minutes it had taken him to grab what they needed, some supper and his donuts, and the hunter glared at the falling droplets like they had personally offended him before running out of the store. Of course, he didn’t get more than ten feet out the door before he stopped dead in his tracks, tensing up as the demons that had stepped out of the shadows began to circle him.
“Aw, crap.”
