Professor..! Not to interrupt at all, and so sorry if I did, but technically is finding the nth term of a sequence simply deriving the function it was solved from? Is the only difference the presence of the sequence or the absence of it in the question itself, and what's presented in the equation?
A friend inquired me about this and I simply wanted a second opinion...
Regards,
-N.I.T
An excellent question, and a sensible one to ask.
While the two may appear similar at a glance, finding the nth term of a sequence is not the same as deriving the function from which it may originate. A derivative concerns itself with continuous change, whereas a sequence is concerned only with countable values.
When determining the nth term, our task is not to measure how the expression changes, but rather to describe its behaviour at each step with clarity and intent. Sometimes a sequence may be inspired by a function, but the distinction lies in what is being asked: one seeks progression, the other transformation.
Do reach out if you have any further questions, I'd be happy to help.

Circle (Class 7 Maths) – Complete Concept, Terms & Easy Explanation | Gupta Sir Math Hub
Do you get confused between radius and diameter?
Do terms like chord, arc, and circumference sound difficult?
Do you feel circle chapter is tricky?
Don’t worry.
Today, I have uploaded a powerful and easy-to-understand video on Circle (Class 7 Maths) on Gupta Sir Math Hub, where every concept is explained step-by-step in the simplest language.
And trust me — once you understand this chapter, geometry becomes much easier and more interesting.
What Is a Circle? (Simple Definition)
A circle is a shape where all points are at the same distance from a fixed point.
That fixed point is called the center.
The distance from the center to any point on the circle is called the radius.
Simple. Logical. Clear.
Why Circle Chapter Is Important
Many students underestimate this chapter.
But in reality, it is very important because it helps in:
Geometry basics
Mensuration (area & circumference)
Coordinate geometry
Competitive exams
Real-life applications like wheels, clocks, rings
If your basics of circle are strong, future chapters become easy.
Important Terms of a Circle (Must Know for Exams)
In the video, I clearly explain all important terms:
1️⃣ Radius
The distance from the center to any point on the circle.
Example: If radius = 5 cm, every point on the circle is 5 cm from the center.
2️⃣ Diameter
A line passing through the center connecting two points of the circle.
Important relation: Diameter = 2 × Radius
This is one of the most important formulas.
3️⃣ Chord
A line segment joining any two points on the circle.
Note: Diameter is the longest chord.
4️⃣ Arc
A part of the circle boundary.
There are:
Minor arc
Major arc
5️⃣ Circumference
The boundary of the circle.
It is like the perimeter of a circle.
Formula: Circumference = 2πr
6️⃣ Semi-circle
Half of a circle.
Very important for exam questions.
What You Will Learn in This Video
✔ Complete definition of circle ✔ All important terms (radius, diameter, chord, arc, circumference) ✔ Easy diagrams for understanding ✔ Real-life examples ✔ Concept clarity for exams
This video is specially designed for beginners and Class 7 students.
Real-Life Examples of Circle
Circle is everywhere around us:
Wheels of vehicles
Wall clocks
Coins
Plates
Rings
When students connect math to real life, learning becomes easy and interesting.
Common Mistakes Students Make
After teaching many students, I have seen:
❌ Confusing radius and diameter ❌ Forgetting diameter = 2 × radius ❌ Not understanding chord properly ❌ Mixing arc and circumference ❌ Drawing incorrect diagrams
In the video, I clearly explain how to avoid these mistakes.
Because small mistakes = lost marks.
How to Study Circle Chapter Effectively
Follow these simple steps:
Learn all definitions clearly.
Draw diagrams neatly.
Revise formulas daily.
Practice labeling questions.
Solve textbook exercises.
Geometry becomes easy with practice.
Why This Chapter Builds Strong Foundation
Circle is the base for:
Area of circle
Circumference problems
Sectors and segments
Higher geometry
Competitive exams
If your basics are clear now, future math becomes easy.
Message to Students
If you feel geometry is difficult, remember:
Geometry is not hard.
It becomes hard when diagrams are not understood.
Circle is actually one of the easiest chapters if explained properly.
And that’s exactly what I have done in this video.
