i miss the fifteen minute walk from my dorm to matsudo station every morning, all the little stores and weed-covered vending machines i would pass, the bridges i would walk over, the rivers i would smile at-

the people on bikes or just on foot, women doing early shopping with baskets and babies on their bikes, or men in business suits hurrying a long, darting across streets and getting dirty looks feom the older people.

all the koi fish in the river that would swarm near the bridge like they expected food from every passerby, the lazy turtles i would catch a glimpse of on rare occassions-

even the little sign next to the river with warnings in japanese and a drawing of a chibi kappa on it.

i miss that early morning walk, seven am and meandering, or eight and speedwalking, stopping to get melon pan or rushing for the next train.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, chashu pork, and spring onion. The noodles have a very nice gauge and the chew was really great. Not too chewy but not overdone at 8 1/2 minutes. They are great cold, dipped into the warm sauce which seemed like a kind of tangy tonkotsu with notes of fish and perhaps vinegar. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4527760168635.
