"I finally get a bouquet, and it's a goodbye present. That's depressing."
“Don’t think of it as a goodbye present,” Makoto responded, a small, sad smile on his face. “Think of it as a.. As an ‘I’ll see you soon’ present.” With that, his smile grew. That was a much better way to think of the small bouquet he had given to Rin. It wasn’t as if they would never see each other again, Makoto would make sure that they did, and sooner rather than later, too.
“It’s just Tokyo, I’m not leaving the planet. I’ll have time off for holidays and stuff, and I’ll definitely come back home then. Just don’t jet back off to Australia without me knowing, okay?” He asked, a bit of a chuckle laced into his tone. “You can come and visit too! I know the train ride’s long, but it’s manageable. I’ve done it quite a few times, it’s not half bad.” He really did want Rin to come and visit him, he was excited to start his first year of university in the big city, no matter how intimidating its size was. He was excited for the friends that he would make and the new things that he would learn, and he was excited to share some of those things with Rin, too.
