Processing my test results, finally arrived. Need time to figure stuff out. Time for......My PROGRESS. Breaking down a story. Issues 41-42 of Green Arrow written by Mairghread Scott and art by me. Here are pages 13 and 14 Things are very colorful from this point out in the layouts. I began working more in layers for this project. I gave each object in the panel its own color. GREEN ARROW FACT... A little tribute to Raiders here as Oliver tries to put his shoulder into place...difficult to show with that armor shoulder pad. I don't think my gag worked, but tired. Panel 3 page 14 DIEHARD TERRORIST!!!! a whole gaggle of them....at this point all 13 have appeared i believe. I changed, dropped, moved and added or altered a few panels to make a few things work more smoothly. As per editors request. My notes to myself and the editor on my approach for the story 1) Play with panel design, No normal panels. Chaos in Prison 2) Only Oliver can break the panel borders, its his book. 3) Superpowered Villains are to big and appear cramped in panels, they don't fit in Olivers world. 4) Oliver silhouettes are Emerald Green not Black 5) Play with narrative think Steranko! in panel design. Arrows flying in background, pencils and various items. 6) Periodically, when Oliver needs to make a great shot a Target appears behind him, think of it as his own personal theme song. 7) All non powered inmates are the terrorists from Diehard (Easter egg) always look in background for eastereggs 😎 Im a prisoner 9) Parasite is always changing, gurgling, once he's absorbing powers So enjoy the process from script, thumbnails, roughs and pencils #matthewclark #matthewclarkart #matthewclarkartist #matthewclarkartistdotcom #greenarrow #process #oliverqueen #art #makingapage #breakdowns #thumbnails #roughs (at Portland, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9AjCU1hHmw/?igshid=1gj61yydmskp7
