I've seen some takes on Mattson and Shiv and how Mattson was just using her

I think Mattson did like Shiv as a person and to some extent respected her opinion (hence why he did some of the things she told him to do even if he didn't want to). Out of all the Roy siblings she's the one I can say that earns his respect (sort of). I also think that initially he saw her as the viable option for ceo but since she isn't someone he could control he went for something easier (Tom).

Ultimately they were both using each other to achieve their individual goals

He sees her as smart but maybe too smart for him and that's why he changes his mind

The hate shiv gets on comments across succession social media and even here on tumblr shows how deeprooted misogynistic behaviour is and how often people dont realise they are being misogynistic!!! I mean people hate her for the same stuff that Tom, Roman, and Kendall repetitively do- but she is a woman so it’s “vindictive” its “manipulative.” THEY ARE ALL MANIPULATIVE then why does Shiv get the most hate. Plus, she is the one who you can understand the most. Queen b got brought up in a family of sexist fucks always being treated lesser than and kept out for just being a woman. Her mom is shit. Her marriage is clearly fucked. The funniest part? I actually thing she is the most strategic and smart out of all siblings she is not affected by how logan would think or what logan would do. I want shiv to win and it to be rubbed on the face of all the idiots who hate her.

This shows so good at messing with my brain I can’t decide if Shiv is playing Mattson or if Mattson’s crazy enough to have foreseen them wanting to pull the deal and is playing Shiv by inventing all that stuff about his girlfriend (a jucy PR problem for her to solve that involves a messed up relationship breaking down hmm) and is going to use her to get the deal he wants over the line before cutting her loose.
