Since it was based on a prompt, I kind of formed the fic around making Sarah say 'two bros chilling on a boat, five feet apart 'cause they're not gay' so that image with her was the first thing I thought about. It led directly into the kind of flirting/kind of not flirting Sam and Bucky do where they keep trying to reach out and touch each other and then deciding not to or their dumb longing glances. I'm soft for anything like that and the idea of having a third party watching them and seeing through their own hesitancy was really fun to work with!
