Max And Her Haircuts Through The Times
Max saw some old videos and pictures as she chuckled thinking about how her hair changed with time as she grow up, and who were alongside her as time passed...
Maxine remembered her childhood, her mother braiding her hair for her to be able to race. She remembered how her little sister would gush about how beautiful her hair was. And she remembered the feeling of her hair balancing on the wind as she raced. It was everything for her. And racing was what made her known Mick, Uncle Michael's son. He was her friend, they grown-up together alongised with Victoria and Gina on paddock. It was their kingdom. She will never forgot how he made her feel special, because he treated her as if her dream of being a driver would really happen, that on future they would be side by side on a formula 1 podium as certain as that the sun rises. That boy with the naivety of a child that said for everyone that would listen that he wanted to marry the dutch girl with beautiful braids. He was her first kiss and first love. She still remebers the warmth of his lips on her, on the chaste kiss they shared.
Growing up on the karting rankings Max - how her now was knows - was adjusting as how now that she was a young teen the boys would never let her be really in their group anymore, now that their bodies are changing and they're seeing her with other eyes, even more with her breats growing. So she decided to change it on her own. She began to uses large clothes, and on day her father was off somewhere he got his eletric barber and put her hair on a buzz hair cut. The change on the other karting drivers attitude was visible because what she did. They stopped of looking and treating her differently because they see her less feminine with the short hair. She was really happy with this. Only that French speaking boy still had a more polite attitude with her than with the others males drivers. But this changed when they raced , there Charles would be a menace to her, the same amount or even more than he did with the others. He was her rival. He was the one that made her feel like giving everything of herfelf for win. He would be part of her life growing up, being as she became a teen somehow someone really important. People liked to joke about the "inchident" , not knowing that that day was the one that Max and Charles crossed a line in their relationship, with the hormones talking higher post a discussion, they ended kissing and sleeping together, taking each other's virginity. Charles was her first and would be forever in her heart even if they can't really can't put racing before the other, so they would never works. But she knows that he would be forever somehow in her life.
Max was growing. She had meet many people, even dating some, like her fellow Dutch driver Nyck. Later she would tell herself that was the point of change as herself saw that in reality she had crush on a different De Vries, that being his sister. But at the time she didn't feel comfortable so she put a face of a hetero girl and dated some boys. She grows her hair a bit, letting her hair is a short style. She sees the looks that drivers like George and Lando gives to her. She feels kinda good with their interest on her. But wouldn't be until Junior Formula that Max would be in a situationship again, this time with Esteban. But they knew it wouldn't have a future so they never really invested on it. It was when she got the announcement that she would be part o F1 circus being a Toro Rosso driver. She would be first woman to drive in years, what got her a lot of attention. But one interaction couldn't let her alone; The fellow female driver Susie, that send her a direct message talking how how proud she was of the other. Her praise makes Max blush even now when she thinks of it. Making that Max see that she really had a crush on another woman , and maybe she wan't 100% straight as she used to think she was. But Susie didn't seem to return her crush, and Max began to her path on the F1, where she meet Carlos. He was a bit older but he was funny, and he was hot so it was just a bit of time that they began to public go out with their relationship during only some months because as their fathers constantly bickering. She remeber he saying how cute she was when she would comb her hair back with gel for a more mature look. She was sad at the time but knew he wasn't really the only one in the world. Even more on a team like Red Bull...
What got Max thinking about Daniel. Ah Daniel.... She had a crush on him since her karting era when she meet him on a karting event sponsored by RBR. But he saw her only as a kid back them, as she was, but this changed when she got on F1 and was sent to the big team. Thing got strange with Daniil but in was her win as she ended working with Daniel and they ended getting close. Their first sexual encounter happened at Spain GP 2016 was they were both drunk commemorating her maiden win. Things escalated from there and she woke up on his bed. From there they would be always hooking up when race results where certain ways, but with time they stopped pretending that feelings wasn't there and began to be a actual couple, even if only out for closest friends. But their chemistry was palpable and people would theorize that they're together. They moved in together for some time, and were a couple until halfway of 2018, when because of team rivalry they ended breaking up. Max thought about how she and Daniel had a difficult relationship later because of this, but with time they patched things and became friends again. But sometimes Max would wonder if Daniel had asked her to marry him like he later said he wanted to do what she would have said. If she would be able to go off the grid at least for a time for play house... It was that time she cut her hair shorter , shaving it sides and slicking the rest of her hair back in a modern look.
Max endend having others relationships post the break with Daniel. Somehow she ended for some time in a relationship with Daniil of all peoples. Fun fact is that in the past Max had have a secret drunk hookup with Kelly before the brunette got together with the Russian. Anyway Max and Daniil relationship worked for a year until they ended things. That is when Max began let her hair grown again. With time it was reaching her shoulders. It was also middle way when she got Checo as her teammate. They bonded really easily. What ended with them having a affair post her maiden championship. They truly loved each other even with sometimes thinking about a future, but they knew that that in the end Checo was a family man and would not end his marriage. But somehow people saw over their facade, and people began to accuse the Dutch driver of being a homewreck, even more a picture of them together commemorating the Championship win going public. With Checo's wife giving him a ultimate, the blonde knew the Mexican would always chose his family over her. So she feels at peace with this, having enjoyed what they had.
Max long hair was balancing with the breeze, as she was cuddling her daughter Lily. She told herself she wouldn't let the little baby be on paddock being so little, but the Dutch wanted to work, even if she could be for now only a consultant for RBR because of maternity leave but she still wanted to be in middle of this all. Racing was the air she breath. But when past a hookup with Nelsinho on the night she won 2024 championship she ended pregnant, the Dutch decided to have the child even being a single mother. RBR wasn't pleased of loosing their driver, but since you don't have a four time champion from thin air they decided not just give her maternity leave, but also a opportunity of being able to work as a consultant from home, and later on paddock when the baby grown a little, with her mother and sister helping her with the baby. Kelly being Lily's aunt from her father side decided to help raises her too, so the brunette ended living on a apartment besides Max. What was good for the baby as she need all the care as her childbirth was too early to the point Max thought the baby wouldn't resist. But Lily was strong as her mother and grew up to be a beautiful baby. With her family and Kelly's help Max was able to get back to work past summer break where she worked on paddock for RBR. People judged her for it, but she knew she need it. Her life has been racing, her pets and now Lily. She would need somehow take care of both. But when she got back to paddock she meet both new faces, and saw familiar faces too that welcomed her. She was home. Soon people began to joke that she was also the mother of rookies as she semeed to worry about the well being and give them advices, even for rookies that are not from RBR family. What they and neither Max's herself knew at the time was that a certain Italian driver was growing a crush on her. But since she saw him as a kid, he decided to use this as a incentive for winning the championship next year, so she would see him as a grown man. At least that was what he told her past winning the championship as he asked her for a chance. As she was contemplating her own story Max looks Kimi playing with Lily and their pets and feels feels that this is her life, her home.
