new ot4 unlocked: max, charles, pierre, and george

think about it. probably it starts with max trying to get with charles, and george trying to get with pierre, but they're both trying to sabotage the other because neither of them want their partner's best friend to be dating their archrival. while george and max are doing that, charles and pierre have a night out as friends, and whoops! they accidentally become lovers.

charles and pierre like each other too much to go back to pretending they're nothing besides friends, but they also don't want to give up their newfound bonds with max and george, so they do some research and each approach one of the others to suggest polyamory. max and george are both skeptical at first, but charles and pierre (respectively) assure them that they'll never have to talk to their sworn enemy. so they agree. within a few weeks of getting into this arrangement, lines get blurred and before long, the four of them are all close, in different ways

I mean, they're lestappen. you know lestappen. they always find themselves being drawn to each other. charles can calm max down when no one else can. max can cheer charles up when no one else can. they have a hard time keeping their hands to themselves when they're together. and so on and so forth

it's funny to talk about georgierre right after lestappen because these two are on, like, opposite ends of the spectrum as far as popularity goes. god knows why, though, because they have such easy banter together. they have similar senses of humor, and always get along, and can talk for hours without realizing it, and they fall for each other far too easily- after all, when they're together, most things are easy

classic friends to lovers. they've seen the best and worst of each other and they've stuck together through all of it. they've helped each other through the hardest times, and shared the best times with each other. they know everything about each other, and love each other despite/because of that. maybe they've always loved each other, and it just took them this long to admit it

classic enemies to lovers. they've been rivals for so long that sometimes they forget why. they fight for the sake of fighting. or they used to- but now that they're with charles and pierre, they're seeing each other in a new light, and their relationship softens, turns almost domestic. while they're distracted with their relationships with charles and pierre, they get closer and closer, and at some point they look up and realize that they no longer hate each other, and maybe they haven't for a long time

for a while they think of each other solely in terms of charles- as in, "this is charles's other boyfriend." they fight (playfully) over who gets to pay for charles's food, who will give charles a ride to the airport, who manages to give charles the earliest good morning text. it's a while before they realize that it's less about charles than it is about the lighthearted competition between the two of them, and- at least in regards to each other- they both like to play more than they like to win

you saw what charles got george for secret santa 2025, right? they bring out the bitchiest versions of each other. even better if they're both a dash possessive of pierre, for flavor. they spend too much energy trying to not let the other know that they find each other funny. but when it comes down to it, they're always there to help the other in a pinch, especially because max and pierre can be difficult to handle at times- but they love them, and after a while, they grow to love each other, too
