Perhaps I was just taking the easy way out.
Like I always do.
Perhaps that’s why life seems so hard.

What I did with my Tues night. <3
The Black and White Project: Days 398 - 399: May 1, 2012 - May 2, 2012
Tuesday afternoon, Occupy Wall Street, several other Occupy Movements from across the country and a bunch of other organizations took part in a number of demonstrations on May Day which included a stop in Bryant Park. I wandered down there during my lunch break with the hopes of catching my friend K -- it turned out she was there earlier -- and if I didn't, I was hoping to chat with folks and capture some of the sights, if not sounds of a portion of the day.
If anything the Occupy Movement suggests a larger dissatisfaction with not just the status quo but with how things seem to be going, and it's apparent to me, and probably apparent to anyone who has even a quarter of a mind that these demonstrations will have an impact on American politics for quite some time to come. In any case, although peaceful there was a palpable sensation of tenseness between the NYPD and protestors -- and a tenseness that on a certain level seemed ridiculous. I happened to leave as more reinforcements were coming by, and I think that I might have narrowly averted an uncomfortable situation.
They had a group of folks sing a hilarious sing a song called "Take Me Out to the Loopholes" which was sung to the key of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." It viciously ripped teams and team owners who took advantage of tax loopholes, eminent domain and tax breaks to build expensive new stadiums -- at taxpayer expense.
If you pay close attention you'll see that on this American flag, each of the stars are replaced with corporate logos.
This woman's sign reads "End Taxation Without Representation. The System Ain't Broke. It's Wrong." The handle of reads "Occupy Reality."
This young man was down at Bryant Park protesting for immigrants' rights, and he wasn't the only one.
"MAKE ART. NOT WAR," this banner reads.
An economist lead an interesting talk on how the economic policies of the last 40 or 50 years or so have impacted the lives of Americans. Although it was a little difficult to hear with all of the hubbub nearby, they made some interesting points about how without proper education the country was sliding into a Third World country.
Go-bots -- and I say this because they can't really be Transformers -- look for tourists and photographers for photos in Times Square. I mean it's not like Go Bots have anything to do these days, right?
An interesting bit of graffiti in the 42nd Street 1,2,3, 7, A,C,E, N, R, and S station.

May 1, 2012 ~ 122/366
Woke up early and finished up my Staycation Itinerary project. Then got ready. Pd 1: Lazy class today. We were supposed to run 2 laps, I walked 1. Then we went to the gym where we was gonna run some more but people were whining so he just let us play freeplay but I just sat down because meh. And idk, can I just say that people need to learn respect. They are so rude. Pd 2: Just made yarn leis for the senior graduation. I made 3 :3 Lunch: I was really hungry but when I went to get lunch it was CHILI and HOTDOG, like really? Why not chicken! So I just gave it to Drea and ate the banana, bread, and salad. I got to be in the exec meeting :3 Pd 3: I hate that class, so much, ugh. tedious work. We just had to try and write another intro to our thing and I JUS HATE IT SO MCUH. Pd 4: We joked around a bunch, omg. Diosa always call people "qurl" you know, and Kenui was calling her out on that. And something about letting Shandon come out of the closet on his own AND IT WAS SO FUNNY. and the way he was acting really seemed like a in-closet gay. And Tyler was just like "i dont care if she calls me gurl" and then Amos and his remarks, it's just so funny! Then we did the yellow worksheet on half lives and it was super easy, only 3 problems. I did them in less than a minute and like literally everyone else is having trouble and taking forever, like we even had to put it up on the board and I'm just like... well this is a first. Afterschool: Daff is switching seats one up with April because apparently the boys, Amos and Kristian are distracting, they're not even! Gave Diosa bus fare and bought her ice cream, oo, what's up. I got lemonade my fave :3 Then chilled at Nishi's then we had to go and just waited for Ed but she had to go party city and I was so sad because i was so hungry and then Layne's father dropped us off home. We just looked at the yearbook and small kine ranted. Home: I ate eggplant and rice while my father made me saimin. Watched 70's show and took a nap, 530-7ish and just attempted to do work but nothing really happened. I need a new computer omg. or at least a new mac battery and charger. It's useless right now. Did my br0's extra credit, well the idea of it, not seriously. Tried to look up scholarships but where in my motivation. Tomorrow I'll be more productive for sure. Ranted to Westy some bit, a well needed rant, omfg. And yeah, okay. toodaloo. picture later because i want sleep.efake smile. so forced it's obv, omg.
:)
