thoughts on zig? and zig and maya?
That’s tough. Because for a lot of Degrassi I hated Zig, I thought he was a shallow douchebag who hurt Maya and was way too possessive and jealous and immature and was completely unlikeable. And then paired up with Esme and got thrown into the most toxic relationship ever.
But, I think he grew. I think by being involved in that level of toxicity he was able to take a step back and learn from it. And the way he was written to be there for Maya after her suicide attempt was definitely endearing and made him way more likable in my eyes.
I was OK with the writers leaving it ambiguous if they ended up together romantically or not. I think that reclaiming their friendship in the way they did was the right move. And he definitely grew as a character, big time.
Guys I actually really love Zig. He seemed like such a fuckboy at first I was positive I wouldn’t like him but as it turns out he’s just a big insecure softie who can be a bit of a dummy but really just wants to support Maya in her dreams at the end of the day I actually think they’re really cute and it’s so sweet how much he supports her even if it’s not always necessarily his thing and even if Jonah is kinda trying to move in on Maya he trusts her and supports her music so much and he even danced to her feminist music and supported her what a good bf
