I swear I’m actually going to write some proper fics and chapters again at some point vaguely soon.
But, right now I had an idea I wanted to quickly mention.
So, recently, I mentioned the idea of having AUs where each of the other sides ended up being close to Virgil in some way instead of Thomas or Patton.
Basically, what would happen if Virgil befriended one of them first instead.
And I mentioned Deceit’s version, him being Virgil’s manifester, and Roman’s version, Virgil being isolated from everyone but Roman, and now I’ve thought of a nice idea for Logan’s version.
In this version of things, Virgil manifests long before any of the others do.
And, he even meets Thomas in person early on and watches over him directly for a while.
Until he ends up becoming unstable for the first time.
He loses control while trying to protect Thomas and when he finally comes back to himself he’s holding and injured Thomas.
So he then decides that it’s too dangerous for him to be around his host, and isolates himself completely within the mindscape.
He uses his shadows to protect and help Thomas and the others most of the time and is only around briefly if he has to help them in person.
So, as the others eventually manifest, some decisions about the matter are made.
Patton was the second to manifest and actually appeared right after Virgil left.
Unlike in the CAP verse, Deceit appears soon after as Thomas decides to just lie to everyone and himself and pretend that Virgil doesn’t exist.
The two end up making a promise to Thomas that they won’t tell anyone that Virgil exists.
So, when Roman and Logan eventually manifest as well, they don’t know about Virgil.
But, eventually, Logan finds Virgil’s door in the mindscape.
It had moved when Virgil ran away and it was almost impossible to find.
But Logan enjoyed the challenge of mapping out the halls and learning to understand how that part of the mindscape manifested itself.
So he finds Virgil’s door and ends up communicating with him thru it.
Like, by sliding messages under the door or using morse code or something.
They become friends that only communicate thru the door until Virgil eventually comes out or Logan eventually is let in and they finally meet in person.
Y’know, the usual story progression.
I thought that was a neat little idea.
