We as a people do not put enough respect on Corey Dorris’s ability to go from the heart breaking
“Paul let me die I can’t live in a world without my daughter” in tgwdlm to
“If only Stephanie, if only” when his daughter says he’s killing her in NPMD
The RANGE your fav could never
GUYYYYYYSSSs so yk how steph doesnt have a mom right? okay hear me out: nibbly seems to pick steph to taunt in the summoning (“Stephanie, yum YUM”), my theory is that steph’s mom was crowned honey queen. probably some time when steph was little, she doesn’t seem to talk about her mother at all but in one of the hatchetfield lives the langs talk about how mrs lauter’s death/disappearance has something to do with the LIB or black book and the mayor tried to do something (POSITIVE TO BRING HER BACK??) and that’s why he won’t touch the book again. ehhhh EHHHH???
Truly my most random idea:
Do you think… Paul was actually…the mayor? Now hear me out! He loves hatchetfield more than anyone, and knows it better than anyone. He’s kind of a natural leader in TGWDLM and has the inclination to want to save people at the end of the day. hes also kind of an asshole like most political figures and doesnt always know the right thing to say.
but because Lauter got ahold of the black book, a spell was cast to make him the mayor instead. Thats why paul never left hatchetfield and why he seemingly doesnt have any wants (his purpose was taken from him), and why he has no backstory (again, it was taken from him)
if i had a nickel for every time a character played by corey dorris in a starkid hatchetfield musical got cornered by a mob singing at him after turning on him from his previous position of power over them, i'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but its weird it happened twice, right?
hatchetfield parallels ft. corey dorris' characters being accosted by a mob in black friday (2020) & nerdy prudes must die (2023)
