Faux Lighthouse in Jacksonville, Florida

This lighthouse parking garage used to be a part of First Baptist Church. It's modeled after Saint Augustine Lighthouse in Saint Augustine, Florida. I just read that it's going to be developed separately.

I saw it the first time in October 2017 when we were in town for the Florida-Georgia game.

I happened upon it this time in March 2019 on my way back from Mayport.

In 1959, USPS delivery of mail by rocket took place for the first and last time. The USS Barbero, a submarine, fired an unarmed cruise missile carrying ~3,000 pieces of mail as its payload. It took 22 minutes to arrive to Naval Auxiliary Air State in Mayport. – WTF Fun Facts
