Sooooo I found put there's a thing called multiple complex developmental disorder and it's basically a mash-up of like all the disorders I have. Like to a T. I've been diagnosed with autism, schizoaffective, adhd, tourettes, ocd, several slds, several sleep disorders, gad, and some misc. shit and guess what? They're ALL included in this thing. I fill all of the proposed criteria. It's basically a conglomerate of autism, schizospec, mood/anxiety, and neurological stuff like adhd, tics, and sleep disorders. It's not recognized as an official dx but damn would it be refreshing to just say one acronym and be done w it instead of reciting a fucking laundry list every time lol

For mod Sabrina, though mod Sean can also answer this. I have MCDD, which is a 'type' of autism not recognized by the DSM (google it). On Tumblr, I usually just say that I'm autistic, because it's true and easier than explaining the nuances in my actual diagnosis. But bc MCDD also includes schizoaffective-type symptoms, I feel like a part of my identity gets lost because of this. Would it be okay to say I'm autistic with schizoaffective symptoms, even if I'm not technically schizoaffective?

I think that’s fine. When I explain schizoaffective to people, I tend to say that it’s like schizophrenia and bipolar smashed together because most people I meet IRL have never heard of schizoaffective but have heard of schizophrenia and bipolar and generally have at least a passing familiarity with them. In my opinion, it’s ok to use other neurodivergencies as a reference point to explain your diagnosis. Most of us don’t have the time or energy necessary to fully explain our diagnoses and saying that you have traits of x disorder doesn’t harm anyone.

Steeds kom ik hem weer tegen, mezelf in meerdere delen alsof je gevangen zit in je eigen gevoel. Zodra de nacht aanbreekt begint het te schreeuwen, want er moet geluisterd worden naar hem. Mensen zullen er nooit achter komen hoe ik me daadwerkelijk voel. Mijn probleem lijkt nooit opgelost te kunnen worden ik ben hopeloos.

Do you guys know where I can get more information about McDD (it's on the ASD, sub type of PDDNOS)? I can barely find any information on it because it's ''new'' & not added to the DSM yet, & I have a hard time understanding the explanations. From what I've read & seen, it's basically schizophrenia, autism & bpd in one? Schizophrenia due to the many psychotic symptons, bpd due to emotion regulation problems & much more intensity, etc.

I looked into this a little bit, but it is still a research topic, and is only a proposed name for a set of symptoms that appear to sometimes coexist. I don’t know of anywhere you can get more information on this, but my guess it that that’s because it is still a research subject and not yet been studied enough to be diagnosable or to have been written about for the general public or even for the broader psychological community. You could try research journals and academic libraries.

Heya, I have a tiny problem. My boyfriend and I are doing really well but he can't accept the fact that I have a mild form of MCDD. It means that emotions are "amplified" so to say. He thinks that I can just stop being so emotional, or get it "fixed" or "cured" (literal words) and that really hurts. I've tried telling him what it is exactly, but he just doesn't listen. I don't wanna bother him with my emotions anymore but I really can't "fix" this... any advice?

My first question to you is, how does it make you feel when he talks like that?  I don’t think the thought of not wanting to bother him with your emotions is the right mindset, do you? Because when you’re in a relationship you have to bother each other with your emotions. You have to figure out why this happens. What was the miscommunication between the two of you? What was it that caused the ripple in your relationship? What did you say that hurt his feelings? Everything that happens in your relationship only works if you talk to each other about your emotions. You have MCDD, what can he do to help? How can he help you manage the problem? Some things can’t be cured but most things can be managed. How can the two of you work to make that possible? I think that’s a better question than how can you go on about it without bothering him with your situation. I know that we want to believe that our disorder doesn’t define us but it is fact that your disorder is a part of you and you can’t love a part of a person. When you’re in a relationship, it’s important that you love your partner wholly. Even if they burp when they yawn, when they brush their teeth after breakfast and you just think it’s weird, or that they always have to have their toothbrush to the right of yours. Whatever it is, it’s a part of you. It helps shaped who you are today and that’s not a bad thing. So he should accept that. If he doesn’t, then Is that someone you want in your life?

I know you might not agree with some of my views on relationships, but we do agree that two people should respect and love each other, yes? So take that into consideration. You’ve explained it to him. There’s not much else you can do now. If he doesn’t accept it, he doesn’t accept it. Not much you can do to change. If you want, you could definitely print out articles that explain everything with scientific findings and give it to him so he has a reference to what it truly is and you’re not just talking about it blindly. But I think it’s up to you now to decide what you want to do and where to go with this.

Evening

This evening was really nice! Had a barbeque with at my workplace. But on the end of the evening i had really hard moodswings :( Just wanted to run away and never come back and feeled me lonely and empty. I know all those people there loves me but sometimes i can't feel it and than i feel myself so crazy.
