Summary: Even though they’ve just finished a tumultuous tour and a packed promo schedule, Niall Horan isn’t quite ready to let go of One Direction. So he arranges a lads’ holiday on a private tropical island. Just the four of them unwinding, away from the crowds and press, before finally taking a well-deserved break.

But Niall knows someone else deserves to be there too, and emotions flare when he tells the others that Zayn will be joining them.

2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing?

No, although I tend to write late at night, and I often (not always) brew up a large pot of tea, which I drink from a huge mug. When I beta my work, I print it out and use a double ended black and red pencil to mark things. I also always write in Courier font.

10. What inspires you the most?

Oh wow, I get inspiration from all over the place. Ideas just pop in my head and I run with them. For settings, places I’ve lived and traveled are inspiring. Also, a lot of my characters’ backstories and little events are from my life or my friends’ lives.

20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of

This is hard to pick, because my writing is so contextual. My newest fic is a HS AU, written from Niall’s POV is a series of diary entries, I Just Want You to Know Who I Am. I depend on body language to tell a story and I couldn’t exactly do that here. But I could get right up in Niall’s head, so I did just that.

In this entry, he’s got a crush, but nobody knows it. I love the little detail he picks up on and obsesses over, because it reminds me of high school:

Oh, I forgot one more thing. The grass was just cut and Liam was wearing shorts. I think the clippings were scratching him because he kept rubbing his shin and brushing them away. Some of the blades of grass stuck to the sides of his calves when he stood up. They fell off as he walked into the building, but one piece was still stuck on his sock when we were in class.

Well he isn’t taking a flight that takes two days total to get there to go serve for a weekend, so his parents will call and get it taken care of. Ha!
