SOOOO this is alice fortescue,, the one and only daughter of mr and mrs fortescue. they tried to have another child after alice was born but struggled.

mr fortescue was a gryffindor and mrs fortescue was a hufflepuff. alice was almost going to be a hufflepuff but she’s too much of a little shit to be a hufflepuff.

when she first started at hogwarts she was bullied by a couple of the older students because she was a bit of a “geeky” student. 

after a while she couldn’t take the bullying anymore,, so she stood up to the bullies & showed them what for. they didn’t bother her much after that. 

alice is now in her last year at hogwarts and she’s matured a lot. she’s become more confident & is happy to stand up for herself. 

her favorite subject is herbology (just like her mum!!) annnnd she also loves to hang around in the herbology greenhouses after class. 

she’s also a member of a bunch of different clubs including, the gryffindor quidditch team. she’s a chaser!!

she’s a massive tomboy and she’s often got scruffy knees & dirty robes.

she’s  SUPER unorganized though tbh. you will often see her on a morning running down the corridors late to class with a piece of toast in her hand. 

annnnd lastly she’s a member of the order & she’s not quiet about it. alice is ready to fight when war comes tbh.

herself and her family don’t care about blood status, as long as you are nice to alice,, she’ll be nice to you!!

was that ADELINE RUDOLPH walking around the halls of hogwarts? i wish it was her, but it was really just ADDISON FLINT, the SEVENTEEN year old SEVENTH year student at hogwarts. she comes from a PURE BLOOD family, and people tend to describe her as LAID-BACK, INTELLIGENT, FLIPPANT and SELFISH.  she can be seen around hogwarts hanging in the SLYTHERIN common room and in the LOST WANDS ROOM. i hear she’s planning on REMAINING NEUTRAL once the war starts and that she’s planning on KEEPING QUIET ABOUT IT. i can’t wait to see how this turns out for her. ahh alright lads here’s the rundown:

→ comes from a quidditch obsessed family, both parents being professional players previously and currently a sports reporter & a coach of the falmouth falcons. protein potions for dinner, strategy talk for lunch, quidditch world cup play by plays for dinner.

→ has two siblings, gone well and happy down the same path of upholding the Dynasty™; all other shit is left up to interpretation in case anyone wants to pick them up ( wink wink nudge nudge )

→ addison tried the same bullshit for the longest time before getting Fed Up in her sixth year. quit the team almost mid-match, probably caused some Problems, had a massive falling out with her parents and like, half of her social circle ( ALSO hmu for angsty Former Friends connections :eyes: )

→ is now very focused on Not Fucking Up, is going after her dream career in international law and trying to pretend that everything is fine and her life is not falling apart thankyouverymuch

→ lowkey catch her having vampiric sleeping patterns and eating appalling combinations of food in the kitchens at 3am tbh and challenging merlin’s ghost to a duel in the restricted section of the library

→ anyway she’s TRYING. her bEST. doesn’t give a shit about war, won’t give a shit about war, but goes after the shit she wants with an inherently athletic competitiveness and fervour. just trying to Better Her Chances with her career prospects and ignore her parents telling her her every breath equals a mistake.

rita eliana skeeter was born on november 13th to two, loving, half-blood parents

one was a healer and one was a politician so u bet a bitch was rich 

her parents didn’t really have high hopes for her, but they wanted to make her life as easy as it could possibly be

she was an only child so she got spoiled a lot with both material things and trips all around the world

she always had the newest technology that an eight year old did not need to have, 

this pampering made her a bit bratty, and the constant flattery from her parents made her think she was better than everyone else

goo d ol’ mother and father dearest thought that rita was a squib because she hadn’t shown any magical abilities, but on her tenth birthday, when a large amount of her “friends” didn’t show up to her party, the candles on her cake in the living room were magically blown out

she’s actually a freaking powerful magician. like really powerful, people really underestimate her.

her hogwarts letter came and her parents could not have been more proud, buying her all new magical equipment and sending her off to hogwarts with two matching grins on their faces. and after she got sorted into ravenclaw, they sent her a letter practically bursting with love and pride, saying that they knew she would do incredibly in that house

she was a slytherin/ravenclaw hatstall, her versatility and desire for knowledge battling it out for dominance, although both traits could easily find themselves homes in both houses

that was the last letter she ever received from her parents. from that moment, they went missing, and no one has been able to find them since

this sparked rita’s love of journalism and digging to find a story. she stops at nothing to be able to get to the root of a story, and although she hasn’t yet gotten to the root of her parents’ disappearance, she refuses to stop digging

this also lead her to the daily owl, a club that she has been a part of for all six years she has been at hogwarts. she loves the daily owl more than anything else, and takes her gossip columns and exposes extremely seriously

rita has always been an extreme overachiever, simply to prove it to her parents. even though she has no idea where they are and what happened to them, she knows that if she ever finds them again, she would want to make them proud

she gets nearly perfect grades, plays quidditch, is in an enormous amount of clubs, and is turning into a fairly skilled witch

she has just become an unregistered animagus, and she uses her beetle form to get the inside scoop that she needs in order to tell a whole and complete story

she does not do it with malicious intent, she is just honestly curious

fun facts about rita:

she is jewish!! her parents raised her jewish and she stuck with it despite everyone around her not really understanding

this is why it doesn’t hurt to not go home for christmas break anymore, she wouldn’t be celebrating much there anyway

she is 100% a cat person more than a dog person

Septima was perfect from the second she was born not a single cry left her small pursed lips. She was content with life from the start and who wouldn’t be, considering the picture perfect family she was born into. Her  father was a surgeon and her mother a talented artist. Her parent’s wealth and stature seemed to only be growing along side the girl. Being the only child to a wealthy muggle families, She never wanted for anything and whatever she desired she need only ask her parents and it was her.

 The young which grew up with manners and class that could challenge even royalty. Her napkin always neatly folded on her lap and not a spoon or fork out of place on her table setting. Septima’s father was a busy man, always dressed to the nines in the most lavish suites money could buy. Everyday she would wake up early to catch a glimpse of the man before he headed to work medical bag in hand. 

She had never know the touch of a nanny, her mothers soft inviting presence was what cared for her and shaped her into the beautiful artist she is. Since she could place her small hands into jars of paint to spread across canvas’ to the elegant master pieces that would take her months to create her mother fed her daughters artistic talents.

However the girl had a fire within her one her parents couldn't comprehend. at the age of 4 Septima let out a tantrum that caused several light bulbs in the family drawing room to shatter. That was the first time she showed any magical ability. Septima could wait for Hogwarts and to discover this whole other world she’d never known.

Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. That was the question everyone had wondered for the years since the young which produced any sign of strong magical talent. When the sorting hat was placed upon her perfectly curled head she could even feel the struggle within it. Ravenclaw, the hat finally chimed after what felt a lifetime, her intelligence and composer proving much more defined than that of her bravery. 

 However Hogwarts wasn't as much of an exciting adventure but an eyeopener for the ivory tower muggle girl. An eyeopener to the blood status of others and how important that seemed to be to most of those around her, despite never knowing anything before. The blood that ran through her veins was dirty and people hated her before she had a chance to charm them with her wit.

amelia, better known as milly, spent the first few years of her life in a foster home in suffolk. she was left on the home’s doorstep after her mother grew pregnant following a one night stand and though her mother desperately wished she could keep her child, she didn’t have the funds or resources to do so and so, gave her up, ultimately wanting her baby girl to have the best possible life she could and knew, in her hearts of hearts, that she couldn’t provide amelia with that.  

inexplicable, mysterious and often very magical occurrences followed milly around through her early years, uncontrollable situations that had staff at the foster home asking themselves just what they’d gotten themselves into when they’d accepted amelia in.

it was at six years old when the bones family first visited her and though they’ve always retained that it was her sharp yet tender demeanour that drew them to her, she’s always wondered if the pair of wix with their two elder sons had known she was a witch from the moment they’d met her, and that’s perhaps why they chose to foster her.

the bones family themselves are a pureblood family, with two sons, edgar and susan bones’ future father, though following the births of their sons, the bones’ struggled to conceive another child and mrs bones had long since hoped for a daughter so, the couple sought out to foster.

despite the rising tensions between purebloods, halfbloods and muggleborns, the bones family have always treated amelia as their own, they pay no mind to her muggle beginnings, for she was raised and witch and believe, wholeheartedly, that she should be respected as one, just as their other children are.

her introduction into wizardry came mostly from edgar, who milly believes, took her under his wing in preparation for his own education at hogwarts, and so would spend hours reading to her the rich history of the wizarding world which enchanted amelia completely, she was absolutely taken with the idea of being a witch and belonging to such a world, she was besotted and as she saw each brother begin his own journey at hogwarts, she was beside herself with impatience over when it would be her time to receive the illustrious letter, walk down platform 9 and ¾ to her destiny.

present day   .

whilst learning about the wizarding world, edgar had explained the family’s long history with hufflepuff house, so it came as no surprise that the moment the sorting hat was placed upon her head, hufflepuff’s name was called… though amelia swears, to this day, that the hat had muttered something about slytherin just before announcing hufflepuff to be her house.

joining hufflepuff was a great moment of pride for amelia, it was then that she truly begun to feel like a real bones.

amelia, at heart, is a real softie… there’s been so many moments during her time at hogwarts, where she’s felt like the luckiest girl in the world. she knows where she came from, what happened to her and she feels so blessed to have found the bones’, or rather had the bones’ find her, for she wonders what her life would be like now if they hadn’t… would she have gone to hogwarts? would she still have magic in her life? to this day, she doesn’t often think about it, out of fear she might wake up and this would have all been a dream… a very intricate dream. she doesn’t often discuss it either, especially not with her family.

despite her loving relationship with the wizarding world, growing up as a muggleborn witch inside a pureblood family began to cause problems for amelia from very early on in her hogwarts years, there was bullying, name-calling, specifically mudblood and it always seemed a little worse that despite the sympathy gained from them, her family was never truly able to relate to what amelia was going through, it often left her feeling alone, like she was facing it alone and it’s become a real fear of hers as she’s moved through the years at hogwarts.

as a student however, amelia absolutely excels, she loves learning and she’s just… incredibly passionate about the wizarding world, and expanding her knowledge of it. she knew from early on that she wanted to work her way up through the ranks and someday work at the ministry and that’s still 100% what she intends to do, and will get there by doing the very best she can.

she’s very, very ambitious and driven… once she sets her mind to something, it becomes quite hard to steer her off that path.

however she’s got a very gentle, kind disposition, she wouldn’t hurt a god damn fly… just not physically at least. she’s got a keen eye, and often notices things within others that perhaps they wouldn’t see themselves. she’s also a good listener, so if you need a shoulder to cry on… milly’s your girl !

she is cutthroat in the knowledge sense? like she’s very smart and can think on her feet very well, so if she ever finds herself in a sticky situation, trust that amelia can find a way out of it by adapting and applying both herself and her knowledge.

what makes this all so hard however, is how lacking in confidence she is. she has all these amazing things to say, and teach the world but she simply lacks the confidence go ahead and do them. she feels the weight of pureblood elitists on her shoulders constantly and with whispers of war coming, she genuinely fears for her and her fellow students’ lives, she doesn’t know what will become of herself and with her dreams not that far away… she’s just so ready to push herself and go for it, but needs an extra push of support from those around her to assure herself that’s she got it right, that she’s on the right path and she’s right for all this.

ALSO she’s heard from her brother that he plans to join the order, and she’s very keen on doing the same, though to save her further aggregation for pureblood bullies, she’s keeping quiet about that decision.

tldr: she has a lot of drive, a lot of passion for what she does and where she wants to go but simply lacks the confidence to go forth and pursue it, feeling constantly weighed down by the discrimination against muggleborns and particularly her place as a muggleborn inside of a pureblood family.

she’d also love to write a child’s book series in the future?? she loves, loves, loves literature

edward “ted” tonks was born out in the countryside of england, in a little cottage in the middle of nowhere

picture the burrow’s landscape but small and muggle

he was born to his two INCREDIBLY loving muggle parents, robery and mary, and was their first child

but he wasn’t an only child for very long ! by his 7th birthday he had 4 LITTLE SISTERS and a 5th ON THE WAY ! 

also by his 7th birthday his parents knew he was Not Like The Rest Of Them bc they walked into his bedroom and found him cracking up at their family cat suspended in mid air above his bed

THE CAT WASNT HURT but it was VERY grouchy so, in ted’s defense, he deserved it! he would never harm it no matter how grouchy !

but like.. also he’d done so many other WHACK things before the cat his parents definitely knew but.. that one just had no explanation

their clarity came when, at age 11 ofc, a woman who introduced herself as professor mcgonagall came to their cottage and told them all about HOGWARTS!!!

his parents were SHOCKED and knew nothing about the wizarding world At All (save the old tonks family rumor that there was a distant great  great great uncle or something that was a magician???) but the revelation explained A LOT so they were pretty happy

plus going to a cool wizard school was SO MUCH BETTER than having to exorcise a demon like their local priest had suggested, so !

his parents are so SWEET. okay. they were so excited to take him back to school shopping in diagon alley and the whole tonks crew came along! they got him all his books n supplies AND (even though they had SIX KIDS and were constantly short on money) they got THEMSELVES some books about wizards n stuff so they could learn more about their son!!! CUTE!

his family loves him sm and they all cried when he got on the hogwarts express (especially all his lil sisters) and write him SO MANY letters! and he answers them ALL ofc bc hes a family man!

ted is a baby nerd FOR REAL and read up SO MUCH on hogwarts before his first day and lowkey wanted to be a ravenclaw so BADLY but the minute the sorting hat touched his head it was like “this kid is a fuckin SOFTIEEE” and so off to hufflepuff he went!

no slander im a hufflepuff for life so im allowed to say that

AND OH BOY was the sorting hat RIGHT!

he is a LOVER til the end of his days! he gets his fair share of shit for being muggleborn ofc but 95% of the time he’ll just ignore it and turn the other cheek

about:

severus tobias snape was born into a family lacking in love - his parents a pureblood witch and a muggle who had long fallen out of love with each other. circumstance kept them together and it was this circumstance that killed the happy child that he had once been. by the time that he met lily evans in a nearby park, it was nearly too late, but when he found lily he also found love.

unfortunately as he watched how much lily’s parents loved her in spite of the magical abilities that she had, he wondered why his own father wasn’t the same way. tobias snape was a drunk man most of the time, and angry man all of the time - fearful of magic, he had grown resentful of the wife and child who had brought it into his life and he lashed out at them frequently. and so, seeing lily on the receiving end of such love planted the first seed of life long jealousy.

why did everyone get what he never had? it was a question that he frequently asked himself, worsening once he arrived at hogwarts and watched everyone make friends as he was left alone. worsened again when he learned that he had family in the magical world - family that shunned him because of his mother’s choices. and thus began his anger at his mother, anger at the world she had joined, anger at his muggle family, anger at the gryffindor purebloods who teased him for things beyond his control.

by the time that the incident with lily happened, it was decidedly too late. anger and jealousy had been bubbling up inside of him like an unwatched cauldron and with the slytherin purebloods encouraging his dislike for muggles, it was only a matter of time until he said something that couldn’t be taken back. that however doesn’t mean he doesn’t wish he could - quite the opposite. snape feels regret for lashing out at the only person who ever really treated him with something akin to love, and yet he knows that there is little he can do to fix it. not when he’s made the choices that he has - choices that he doesn’t regret

extras:

originally, snape was the odd one out even in the slytherin common room until the other boys in his year took him in. it was a relief to finally have people that he could call friends - or at least acquaintances and even if he knew that they were to some degree using him, he couldn’t find it in him to care.

despite not being much of a people person, snape joined as many clubs as he possibly could in order to avoid being alone. now, in his seventh year there are only three left that he participates in: potions club, slug club & the frog choir. he avoids any quidditch game that gryffindor is playing in as if he might catch dragon pox despite having friends on the team.

theme song? no love by simple plan - a lot of simple plan’s songs fit him quite well actually and despite his dislike for the world, he does listen to a lot of punk music.

has no idea what his plan is exactly after graduation, but does want to pursue his potions mastery if no reason other than to serve voldemort better.

still has the potions book with the notes in it, has taught most of the slytherins the spells that he invented with exceptions of the younger years.

straight up? if he had the opportunity to do it without being caught, he would kill james potter.

was that ELLIOT FLETCHER walking around the halls of hogwarts? i wish it was them, but it was really just LEO BORGIN, the EIGHTEEN year old SEVENTH year student at hogwarts. they come from a PURE BLOOD family, and people tend to describe them as HARDWORKING, LOYAL, PESSIMISTIC and RUDE.  they can be seen around hogwarts hanging in the HUFFLEPUFF common room and in THE CLOCK TOWER. i hear they’re planning on JOINING THE ORDER once the war starts and that they’re planning on KEEPING QUIET ABOUT IT. I can’t wait to see how this turns out for them.

leo borgin is an enigma in hufflepuff and hogwarts as a whole - unlike the rest of his house, leo is not in any manner of the word soft. it’s easy to associate him with the darkness that plagues his family name, and given that he doesn’t do anything to dissuade that notion most likely believe that he’s no different. 

it’s not uncommon to see him lurking around the castle after the sun has set - and his classmates definitely don’t appreciate the loss of house points - this time is spent listening to other’s conversations and looking for lost artifacts. despite not planning to follow entirely in his family’s footsteps, he is employed at borgin & burkes over the various breaks.

he takes duelling club very seriously and is pretty good at defense, though the pretense that he just wants to duel professionally is just a front. he’s not involved in quidditch or any other clubs, preferring to spend most of his time studying in the common room.

he’s deep into the hogwarts’ party scene, as he enjoys letting go and having a good time - as he would tell you, he plans on being here for a good time but not necessarily a long time.
