Ok I'm probably gonna delete this but a quick rant about something that's been bothering me a lot lately, and I wanna start it by explaining that the entire reason I got into the comic/geek world as a kid at 6 yrs old was because of Elektra Natchios. Not joking she was and is still my hero since I was young, she was the first female character I felt I could even look remotely like(and elodie yung's portrayal has been even greater representation of that) I've been her for Halloween twice and she was proudly my first cosplay. Her moral complexity and relationship with Matt Murdock is something I've been obsessed with for a very long time. With that said, it's been baffling to me that I've come across a lot of hate for Karen Page.... that or her relationship to Matt. I haven't been on Tumblr as way back as when Daredevil Season 1 first premiered so I didn't know until recently the way she has been viewed. Both women in my eyes have a significant relationship to Matt (in comics/TV) for different reasons and I imagine in Season 3 that we will be seeing Matt&Karen's relationship grow (it looks like they're doing the Born Again storyline). And as much as I love Matt/Elektra's dynamic, I appreciate it as it is, a relationship that is never meant to work out despite all the love there. I understand how important Elektra is to Matt and another woman doesn't threaten that if she brings out a different side of him that is better at the moment for his well-being. This isn't a post to hate on any character or praise one above another, but more to emphasize that I believe you can love a character without having to belittle another. Again, this is more of a rant for me because it just really saddens me to see women being pitted against each other YET AGAIN in this fandom. And I've been shocked with some of posts I've seen this past week trying to undermine Karen's character &importance to the plot, when she's done quite a lot.

Why are villans like Loki and a dead man like Pietro treated better than POC like Rhodey, Sam and T'Challa by some in this fandom?

ok honestly i wanted to let this go but.................................i physycally Cannot. so listen up: rhodey is free to have issues with both steve as a person & as a public image (read: captain america); mostly because, read this, it might sound shocking, rhodey is & has been an actual military man for years unlike steve who spent half of his serving time in cryo sleep. Granted, Rhodey can’t understand what it’s like to subject yourself to scientific enhancement in the name of joining & then have your entire life taken from you because of you serving your country (steve’s real sacrifices), but like let’s not pretend Rhodey would prove to being so out of character that one could consider him a Skrull just because he has problems with the whole idea of Steve’s over-glorified image as Captain America -- that’s, although I’m up for a good debate, very in-character for Rhodey; who is a still active (tho, that isn’t clear anymore, given his current state) Air Force Colonel, with a high position within the government, a Mechanical Engineering degree (& at MIT!). Rhodey wasn’t “given” any of his ranks for pulling simple stunts he most likely had to get them by hard, long work & for this person to think that Rhodey wouldn’t have the slightest issues with how Steve got promoted to Captain is honestly just......wow, how little do you know Rhodey?

on to the thing that really pissed me off about this post; the tags.

ok but, as i was telling @asexualtonystark before i decided to post this; rhodey was entitled to be bitter there & im,,,,,,,,como se dice,,,,,,,tired of yall expecting rhodey to be some Prime Human Form Of Patience & Kindness like tony went behind his back, fuck the rest of the avengers, HIS BACK, & created ultron. Rhodey is the frist one to really consider just about the kind of Real Danger ultron presents (”he’s on your files, he’s on the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?” “Nuclear codes”). Tony’s off about how he’s the one who sacrificed himself & Rhodey, who has dealt with Tony three times as longer as any of the people on that room have, responds with poor humor because he’s pissed, too, & he has a good damn reason to. 

also, i love how yall are really quick to put rhodey in the corner & question all his every actions but never take the time to bat an eye to other (read: white) characters

the “lack of concern over the PTSD” lmao, are we talking about the same movie? Rhodey’s “unconcerned” ass is the first character (i might even dare to say the only one) in this movie to actually word out “Are you okay?” to Tony. (he even fucking says, literally, “I’m concerned about you, Tony”)

I really dont understand shit about what you meant here but Rhodey supporting the Accords is definitely not ooc either. Rhodey does what needs to be done (as he himself said at the end of CACW) & dismissing the desires of 117 countries isn’t what needs to be done; so, I really don’t get why yall whine about Rhodey siding with the UN in this particular predicament because shit’s already hit the fan & damn if Rhodey isn’t in it for fixing it as soon & as effectively as possible. 

& lastly “dont make rhodey out as someone that immature”

my posts (& the replies that it got that ive reblogged) were meant as a non-serious post; with canon-basis, but really wasn’t about ofending steve or anything of the sorts, if anything, i’d be happy to read someone trying to actually make me buy the idea that rhodey would be completely okay with steve’s past as a war propaganda image & i would love to read meta posts about how that has affected steve himself. 

my posts weren’t about rhodey “disrespecting steve’s service & sacrifices”; they were about how rhodey wouldn’t really care about the Captain America legend because he has met real heroes & realer soldiers in his life. it had very little to do with steve himself.

It's absolutely ridiculous that "fans" are making a competition between Tony and T'Challa. Um, how about no? Where is this stupid competition even coming from? They've yet to have a single disagreement. They've actually agreed on quite a few things. When Tony speaks of his tech being the most advanced I'm pretty sure he's talking about the tech that's available for everyone. And T'Challa has a sleek, bulletproof suit like he dies because he has access to a metal that Tony doesn't. Neither is better. They're actually very different. Almost completely different. Apples and oranges people. You can be a genius at different things. You can be good at different things. That's why they form a friendship and a team. Why would you want everyone on your team to have the same strengths? You wouldn't. Because then you'd have the same weaknesses. I swear, this fandom wants to start an issue with everything. Just chill out. T'challa and his people did good with medicine. Tony did good with clean energy. Why does everyone feel the need to pit them against each other? Why?
