medschool talk

let me ask you. what if you discovered halfway through the semester of 1st year medschool that it is not your passion. will you quit and take a leap of faith and follow your dreams?

people always say, “feel lucky you can afford medschool because a lot dream but can’t afford to.” what if i told you it has taken a toll on my mental health? what if i want to follow my heart and live my life living that one thing i’m passionate about? does that invalidate my pain?

5pm rituals include sitting on my garden swing in the terrace, watching my 2 dogs play around, listening to nostalgic music while allowing the anxiety slowly fade away even just for a while, and just taking a deep breath.

everything’s going to be alright, i’m gonna be fine.

craving for: burger king’s iced coffee vanilla ☕️

waiting for my food delivery: angel’s pizza- pepperoni and garden of eden. still thinking if i should get coca-cola 🤔

so far the prettiest sky this week (it’s been gloomy and rainy). what a beautiful shade of blue that is. just goes to show that sometimes the rain gives us beautiful things.

this has been my life the past month, just trying to get through notes by notes for the upcoming PLE. i am so nervous and scared and i feel like idk anything.

Matched

You know the saying “good things come to those who wait?” well my friends, it finally happened to me. I finally got matched with a hospital in my place. I’m just so overwhelmed with this because this has been something I’ve been praying for these last couple of days. I wasn’t expecting to get accepted into this hospital because the chances of getting accepted were zero to one. I promised myself that if ever I’ll get matched, I’ll be hitting my books and review hard. I still have 2 months before internship starts and I would like to cover some stuff I missed during my clerkship. This pandemic really sucks but we don’t have any choice but to accept our current situation and hopefully next time, we can go out without our masks and breathe safely again.

went out for pap’s birthday dinner tonight. before going home i dropped by this newly opened cookie/ coffee shop; A Dough Story.

I’m Princesa Dennise E. Panopio, a Registered Medical Technologist from Batangas, Philippines, an incoming first year medical student at Our Lady of Fatima University-Valenzuela.

Join me in this roller coaster journey that I will be taking in the next 5 years of my life. This is not going to be a smooth sailing one but I’m glad I am already on the boat. (if that makes sense)

it’s second semester and i know i’ve said it a countless times... i’ve been wanting to quit medicine but for some reason, i’m still here. by the grace of God, i’m still here.

midterms is on its way and i’m currently reviewing Renal Physiology and Endocrinology for my Histology evaluation exam tomorrow! Wow!
