GUSU LAN: air benders

QINGHE NIE: earth benders (the subtype of earth bending is metal bending which the Jins specialize in not posted here cause it was getting too big)

YUNMENG JIANG: water benders (subtype of water bending is blood bending which is a very rare varient and very hard to achieve but wwx manages to achieve it and xue yang is someone who gets close to achieving it but can only blood bend when there’s a full moon unlike wei wuxian who doesn’t need to rely on the moon) more about blood bending here.

QISHAN WEN: fire benders 

Long ago the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Wens attacked. Only the avatar master of all four elements could stop them but when the world needed her (Baoshan Sanren) most she vanished. A hundred years passed my brother (Jiang Cheng) and I (Jiang Yanli) discovered a new Avatar, a water bender named Wei Wuxian and although he has a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone, I believe A-Xian can save the wolrd.

buuut plot twist wwx deviates from the normal waterbending path and chooses to bloodbend instead and i havent thought that far ahead but yep yeah there’s a plot bunny.
