Die Szene in Moritz Leimers Wohnung lässt mich nicht so richtig los, denn ich finde es echt schwierig Adam in diesem Moment zu lesen.
Das erste was auffällt ist wieder eine gewisse Distanz zwischen ihm und Leo. Adam schlurft durch die Wohnung, sucht vielleicht zuerst nach Hinweisen aber dann letztlich nach etwas zu essen, während Leo etwas weiter weg im Flur still gegen die Wand lehnt und offensichtlich von Schuldgefühlen geplagt ist. Alles an Leos Körpersprache in dieser Szene spricht Bände, dass es ihm nicht gut geht, er sich Vorwürfe und Sorgen um Pia macht.
Adam bleibt trotzdem auf Abstand, wirkt fast etwas zu unbothered und schaut ihn nicht mal an als er sagt "ich hab Scheiße gebaut, Leo".
Der Adam den wir in den anderen Folgen gesehen haben, hätte Leos Nähe gesucht um ihn zu trösten. Er hätte sich entweder sehr nah neben ihn gestellt oder ihn sogar berührt. Nichts davon passiert in dieser Szene und das obwohl der Moment sogar nach "wenn man etwas liebt kommt man zurück" passiert.
(Ich klammere hier mal aus, dass die Suche nach Pia gerade für beide absolute Priorität hat und nicht ihr personal drama.)
Ja in KdE und FdG ist viel zwischen den beiden kaputt gegangen aber es wäre eigentlich Leo von dem man erwarten würde, dass er sich distanzierter verhält als früher und nicht Adam.
Als Leo dann erwidert "aber ich hab dich nicht davon abgehalten", schaut Adam ihn zumindest an aber ich finde der Blick lässt sich total schwer deuten. Im ersten Moment wirkt er genervt und obwohl Leo dann sichtlich mitgenommen seinen Kopf in die Hand stützt, macht Adam keine Anstalten noch irgendwas zu sagen, sondern schaut auf sein Handy (um die Uhrzeit zu checken, vermute ich mal).
Auch das "gibt´s eigentlich irgendwas das man gegens Arschloch-sein tun kann" sagt er eher zu sich selbst.
Es wirkt so als wäre Adam in der Szene total mit sich selber beschäftigt und würde Leo gar nicht so richtig wahrnehmen und für mich passt das irgendwie nicht zu seiner restlichen Entwicklung in EdN. Denn man hat ja im Verlauf der Folge schon gemerkt, dass er realisiert, dass er für Leo nach Saarbrücken zurückgekommen ist.
Für mich bleibt vor allem der Eindruck zurück, dass Adam in EdN wertvolle Zeit verspielt, bis es am Ende nach der Explosion für alles Ungesagte und alle verpassten Chancen endgültig zu spät zu sein scheint. Und vielleicht ist das genau der Eindruck der entstehen sollte und die Thematik wird in Folge 7 aufgegriffen aber trotzdem ist in EdN manches auf der emotionalen Ebene nicht ganz nachvollziehbar für mich.
Was sind eure Gedanken dazu?
Ugh, I can't believe I'm doing this, but here's a rant. And I normally do this for other fandoms and tried to avoid doing so for this one, but here it is—
And my main reason for holding back on reading into things for this show is because I genuinely don't know how much thought was actually put into it on Viv's part. Not saying she couldn't have put thought into it, but sometimes coming up with theories or reading into things for this show feels like trying to do the same with Family Guy or something.
But anyway, what happened?
Because when could Alastor...
...touch flowers? Without them wilting?
Like, in the comic, in that panel (#8) I don't think he's entered Cannibal Town yet. This is just some random park. And the demons there aren't from Cannibal Town. And, from what I've gathered, unless you're a fellow Cannibal Town citizen (unless you're Alastor) you can't really survive in that town.
But yeah, unless Viv just forgot that little headcanon she had for Alastor, he can at least touch the flowers that grow in Cannibal Town. Which, lucky him, because for some reason Cannibal Town is full of flowers:

And at first I was like: "Okay, well, Rosie is the leader of Cannibal Town. Maybe she just had them planted and upkept because it was her name?"
Very...self-centered of her, but it's fine 😂 more power to you queen, I guess.

This is the part where I'm going to spout off things I noticed but not really connect them, because I'm still iffy on the idea of Rosie BEING Lilith, but I do think they have a connection with each other.
Firstly, the statues themselves? No pupils.
Design choice for animation specifically? Probably. But it does make them look more like the people from Cannibal Town.
Secondly...shoot, I forgot...

Here's some stuff I found about pink roses specifically, since the ones Alastor is holding in that second picture kinda look pink. Turns out, pink roses are considered the original Rose.
(kinda like how Lilith is the first woman)
And they're usually used to express gratitude, so maybe that's why Rosie likes them so much? Perhaps she's paying tribute to the royal family or maybe this is that self righteous bit where everyone plants them out of gratitude for Rosie?
Also fun little thing is that they're most commonly given on Mother's Day. I feel like you can see where my thoughts went with that.
Maybe this is a stretch, but kinda weird how Lilith and Rosie have flowers names? (Lilith = Lily)
Also also...we never actually see Lilith's eyes in the few shots we're given of her in the show. She always has sunglasses on to cover them. Weird. Like, we've seen literally the rest of her body, why would showing her eyes be like...
It's hard to explain—
Why would the lack of her eyes being shown be what keeps us from going, "oh yeah, that's Lilith" or like season 3 is when she's actually going to be revealed? Because we've already seen her...so she technically doesn't need to be "revealed" in season 3 or anything...we just haven't seen her EYES.
Also wait-
When that deal with Alastor breaks and Rosie no longer has Alastor's soul, her eyes (or lack thereof) flash gold? Kinda like the statue of the Morningstar family?
Dang, there's a 10 picture limit...okay, but her eyes do that.
And I also feel like it's worth mentioning that when we see the helmets the exterminators have? Adam's is the only one that has golden (yellow? Idk) eyes. Everyone else has pure white. He's probably a higher up angel (was) with more power and authority.
And if Rosie had that kind of power, too, thanks to Lilith? Maybe that's why her eyes and magic are golden as well.
Alan Becker Analysis: Hazard's Mysteries (Or Maybe I'm Overthinking???)
Ok so unlike this last post about Victim and Glasses Guy / "Agent", this isn't really me bringing anything solid onto the table (well besides one or two things). This is just me overanalysing random shit that frankly is likely irrelevant.
Anyways this post is about Bathroom Sign Guy aka Hazard aka Warning aka Sign, the gray pictogram mercenary from Animator vs. Animation VI, and why he might have a deeper role (prob doesn't).
Part 1 - The Overthinking of Minor Details
Ok this is the part where I'm 100% convinced I'm just talking stupid shit due to rewatching the episodes too many times, but eh.
Let's start off with something... relatively normal actually, which I saw pointed out by others. When Chosen attacks the mers with lightning, Hazard has this shit happen to him:
This is... frankly weird and idk what it means. When Wanted first came out, this and his movement made me think Hazard was a robot, but since then I started believing he's just a normal stick figure like the others. Besides, this whole series is on a computer so everyone besides the Animator is an AI lol.
So if he's not a robot, perhaps Hazard is connected to technology, and thus taking away the ship's energy took away his? That's the only other thing I can think of.
The second one was actually told to me by a friend, and tbh even in this whole post this might be the biggest stretch, but I still think this is worth bringing up. When Orange and Chosen return to the Outernet, Hazard is seen looking... somewhere.
(btw agent looks so stupid here lmfao)
The most likely answer is that he is simply looking around, like Agent and Primal - the cave drawing - are seen doing like immediately afterwards. But my friend did point out that it could easily look like Hazard is looking up - in which case, he could've possibly noticed Chosen and Orange, and then chose to not tell the other mercenaries until Agent notices them and thus forces Haz to intervene. Likely just huge overthinking of a one-off scene, but still.
The last one from Wanted is this shot of the Mercenaries in the elevator.
In this scene, Hazard briefly looks at Ballista - the pixel gremlin - and then proceeds to look away when the little guy stares back at him. Is it most likely them just finding the awkward elevator silence uncomfortable? Probably yea, but it could also be a sign of Hazard and Ballista having a rocky relationship - we see Ballista is pretty aggressive, so maybe Hazard is nervous around such a batshit crazy dude?
In "The Box", the first Hazard scene worth talking about is the first of his reactions to Victim's torture of Chosen.
We know he is a mercenary and a villain, so it should be expected that he's a cruel bastard, but still, falling asleep while watching torture is just another level. What kind of shit did Hazard see, or do himself, that he finds Victim's actions purely boring?
...and yet, just a few moments more later, Hazard has an actual reaction to Victim pulling out a lasso.
Now, the three dots - and thus, Hazard's silence of a reaction - could mean anything. Maybe he's still bored, just awake now. Maybe he's curious to see what will happen. Maybe he has actual standards. But it's still interesting to see that Victim's lasso got a reaction out of Hazard (meanwhile Ballista just crosses his arms, prob in curiosity or impatience, while Primal stays completely still - I'll get to their personalities later).
Similarly, Victim ordering Agent to clone him also gets a small reaction out of Hazard, his head jumping a little (I don't know how else to call it).
This time, it's definitely just shock/curiosity/surprise that Vic is doing something new, and/or that the Box lets you clone people, but still worth pointing out.
A long time later, we finally get something worthy of note from Hazard, that I actually find interesting. While the other mercs are too busy looking through Chosen's memories, Hazard notices Orange returning.
I feel like this was actually an intentional choice. Like, why make all the mercs focused on Chosen's memories, excluding only one of them - and it's not even the most important mercenary that's the big bad's right hand? Also, why is Hazard so far away from the other mercenaries? While I consider this whole section of the post just major overthinking, this one moment specifically is actually pretty sus to me.
Now, to close off this section, there is Haz's reaction to Super Orange.
Mainly, how he and Victim are the only ones who are inarguably scared/panicking. Primal just leans in like "de fuk", Ballista flinches once and then watches in silence, while Agent double checks on both the small and large monitor. Primal and Agent are confused, Ballista is shocked(? idk how to call it), but Hazard and Vic are the only ones with a true "OH SHIT" reaction. What this means? Idk, again this whole section is just overthinking things.
Thankfully we can leave the part where I talk meaningless shit and get into the parts that hopefully actually have a point.
Part 2 - Hazard and His (Lack of) Personality
Another part I noticed since Wanted first dropped (part of the reason why I first thought Haz was a robot) was that, compared to the other mercs, he has so little personality... which might be intentional.
I mean, Agent. He also doesn't showcase a lot of himself, but we still see that he's cool, calm, loyal to Victim, kind of a taunting asshole who plays with his victims instead of instantly getting serious, and despite it all, not unbreakable - He panicked when Chosen attacked him with the iceberg, and he was caught off-guard by Super Orange like everyone else.
Ballista probably has the most personality out of everyone. His body language shows emotion pretty much all the time: most specifically, anger. Whether it's his fighting style, his pose, or walk cycle, Ballista is pissed off 24/7. It's implied it even makes his co-workers nervous. At the same time, the grin he flashes when jumping off the ship in Wanted shows he enjoys his job.
Primal is second only to Hazard in lack of personality, but there's definitely still something there. Mainly, is that he's a very fight-focused person that is basically an empty shell outside it. He's so ready to fuck up a rhino in Wanted, and sharpens his spear for another hunt while bored, but outside of fighting Orange?... he's pretty dull. Only a bit more emotional than Hazard. He seems like a Kraven-type character who just wants to hunt the biggest prey possible, while having zero life outside it. Also he has a Hulk-style form which reduces him to an animal sapience-wise.
Hazard, though? He uhh... he wants to get Chosen, is very focused on completing the job, and that's kinda it. He's such a blank it feels intentional. Perhaps he has his own goals and is hiding them?
Part 3 - He's Either Holding Back or He's Fucking Useless
Yea not gonna sugarcoat this. There has to be some sort of big reveal of Hazard's true power in later episodes, or this dude's so weak it's laughable to think he's supposed to be a threat.
I mean, Agent has a toolbar that makes him a Mini-Animator, and he can pause anything and anyone. Ballista can shapeshift his body and pull weapons out of his ass. Primal has a stronger form that can pick up a rhino without difficulty, and he probably has more.
Hazard?
He, uh... is good at dodging. He also has this one Shock Sign that killed a bird. Yeah.
Ngl if this is all Hazard has then it's impossible for me to see him as a threat on par with the other mercs, or even Victim. Hell, I wouldn't even be able to see him as above the Stick Gang in strength, with how slow Orange was in that scene compared to his fights in the AvM Shorts.
So yeah, on top of possibly hiding his true personality/hidden motives, Hazard was most likely holding back heavily in Wanted, which only makes him more mysterious.
Part 4 - The End
So, this is kinda it. Was Part 1 all overthinking, or did I get a few things right? Is Hazard actually hiding something, or does he only show little personality because none of his scenes let him show off anything? Is he holding back his true strength, or is he actually weak?
Frankly idk, but I am excited to see where things go with this guy, as he has tons of potential.

Let me just post some headcanons on Ethan’s background before anything canon is published. Since it not wrong before its proven wrong ;*
Ethan was born after the second world war was over, but the post war’s hatred for everything foreign was still fresh. He grew up during the cold war when the conflicts in the east of Europe broke loose
His jewish parents, who only met after the alliance forces put an end to the whole tragedy, put great hopes on the boy, wished for his future to be bright. Ethan was a very kind child who grew up loved and safe.
He wanted to become a doctor in his young years, but due to a bad financial situation he knew he would never be able to afford university. So he got involved with a group of people, who were told to have made deals with the devil, who managed to treat people with their extensive medical knowledge and help them overcome terrible diseases. Their home was only opened at night. Payment was in donated blood (“for their treatment”). He begged his way into that family, a hand full of vampires living with their chalices. He had to prove himself first but he was very willing to learn.
However, when the community noticed that the child, who had become a teenager of seventeen years, was getting close to those devils, his family was harassed out of the city. Ethan left his family, to “live with his “employers” ”, when the group decided to move away.
After moving in he was officially made a chalice by a free vampiress, who had taken a liking to him. She was cold to him to keep him distanced, not paying him any attention except during the feedings, but he craved her. She was young and beautiful, exactly his type. She way only turned for a few decades and lived through the horrors of both world wars. Having him, was like relearning to trust in human kindness.
He learned about medicine, about psychology, philosophy, learned languages. He enjoyed the safety the new family granted him.
For five years they lived in their new place, a large mansion in a small village that belonged to a new member of their clan. A villager managed to sneak his way into their business, seemingly interested in medicine, too. He was sure the people were demons, who bound their presence to human beings. After the man collected enough information, he managed to secretly collect a mob of people and they attacked the vampire mansion in the brightness of day. They slayed the chalices to kill the devils that they could not win against.
Ethan’s mistress let herself be killed and openly attacked the mob, to not draw Ethan down with her. This broke the chalice bond. Ethan was free to leave. He was furious, killed a man and tried to awaken his vampire side to revenge his lost love by draining him of his blood. It did not work out.
The owner of the mansion took him with him as they fled in the broad daylight. Ethan could not say goodbye. The vampires’ remains were burned together with the humans.
Ethan and the house owner – another medic far older than his former mistress – managed to survive the massacre and moved around in a two man group, still helping people, healing them and running whenever they were discovered.
But Ethan’s hatred grew stronger by each day the murderers of his love remained unpunished. He was also terrified of having lost his status as a chalice. He lost the safety of the clan.
For another year he tried. He tried to give people a chance, but after multiple times they had to change cities, he was sick of it. He asked his late master to just turn him and let him go his own way. Like a parting gift that was bestowed upon Ethan, a week later they both left for a next destination. It was the last time he saw him.
He was 24 at that point.
Ethan went for their tormentors. With his new abilities, he hunted down every person who was responsible for the assault on his former home, everyone they held dear, every person who ever forced him to flee. That even went as far as following them into other countries. There was no one he could not find.
He developed a gruesome way of life. Parasiting his way into peoples homes, feeding off of them and then leaving the other day. He left a path that was easy to follow.
Beliath did. He had visited the pacifistic clan when it was still active and saw the boy before. He heard of the young vampire that raised to much dust in his way. He needed to calm him down to keep their secret save. So he went for a talk. Ethan was eager to meet the devil himself. He was also yearning for another family.
Beliath invited him to a soiree held by the high and mighty of the night world. He was recognized there as a former part of the medics household, as a pacifist. That was no longer the case. He almost drained a man on the buffet in his hunger from being on the run for days.
Beliath stopped him. He helped him settle down. He showed him that it is possible to lure prey instead of hunting it. That he can feed regularly instead of bingefeeding and killing. He taught him the art of seduction.
They met again in France years later. Both on the search of a save place, far away from humankind. Both heard about a self sufficient house and Beliath contacted Ethan after a talk with the blonde new owner of the mansion. Together they moved in, forming a five member-ed clan.
When Vladimir, 10 years later, decided to take in a young vampire – one that was newly turned with a master that had no use for him and no way of keeping the fledgling safe – Ethan feared the threat of being persecuted and chased from his home again. Because everything new way a threat. It could mean loosing everything.
Seit ich diese Drehbuchseite von der FdG Anfangsszene (x) gesehen habe, geht mir "Er ist ganz ruhig. Erklärt es Adam wie einem Siebtklässler" nicht aus dem Kopf.

Es mag zwar nur eine Beschreibung dafür sein, dass Leo ganz simpel und deutlich mit Adam spricht aber es steckt in dieser Anweisung auch gleichzeitig eine so traurige Wahrheit.
Adam hat einen so schwierigen Zugang zu Emotionen, dass man ihm Gefühle halt wirklich erklären muss wie einem 13-jährigen. :(
Nicht weil er dumm wäre oder so. Allein wegen seinem Beruf muss er Menschen lesen und deren Handeln einschätzen können, also völlig hilflos ist er diesbezüglich nicht. Aber aufgrund seiner traumatischen Kindheit hat er seine eigenen Gefühle so lange tief in sich verschließen und wegdrücken müssen um zu überleben, dass es für ihn immer noch unglaublich schwer ist seine Emotionen zu verstehen, geschweige denn die Gefühlswelt anderer.
Er hat schon ein Gespür dafür wenn es Menschen nicht gut geht (Leo und Pia z.B.) und er will auch gerne helfen und für Menschen die ihm wichtig sind da sein. Aber das ist eben nicht das Gleiche wie sofort zu verstehen warum es jemandem nicht gut geht.
Von der Persönlichkeit her würde ich sagen, dass Adam eher ein Sympath ist während Leo ganz klar ein Empath ist. Dass macht es für Adam, neben seinem Trauma, sicher auch nochmal schwieriger.
