New Comics Day is my favourite day of the week, but it’s an added bonus when one of those new releases is penned by a good friend and colleague! The comics industry is richer because of his presence.

Anthony continues:
Firstly, you are a wonder. Never forget that.
Second, coming out is weird and hard and everyday. Trust your instincts. Take your time. Put your foot where you want to put it.
The pace is yours to set. Some people will surprise you, in all directions. Don’t wait forever but set your own pace. Coming out can be a way to say “I love you.” or a way to say “fuck you.” Decide which you’re doing.
Coming out is relational. Straight people elide this- they think it’s a party you’re throwing for them. It is not. Come out when you love and trust them enough. Not before.
Your safety is paramount. You don’t owe anybody disclosure. Finally, there is a community waiting for you, with its own vibrant culture and customs and history. Please find us.
Also: you’re allowed to be unsure, working things out, & listening. Trust your conscience; do and hold to nothing that offends your spirit.
Be brave enough to be kind.
Also a life of being on the outside can make people spiky; learn to differentiate a disagreement from an enemy.
