Happy new year everyone! I’ve been a little quiet lately due to some sizeable commissions, some big life changes, as well as an injury last week where I bruised my ribs pretty badly 🤕

I decided to take a break from commissions to make another piece using my galaxy-printed fabric, and although this was the first time I’ve tried to do a semi-realistic portrait with embroidery, I’m pretty pleased with the result. I even used a 14K gold-plated chain for hanging ✨

The seemingly never-ending piece is finally finished! This was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever made, but I’m quite pleased with the results 🙃 Stitched up this engineering blueprint for my cousin who recently graduated from his mechanical engineering program 💙⚙️

Happy #legalization Canada! 💚 These pieces aren’t yet finished, so I can’t show you all of them just yet. But I’ve been very busy creating pieces for Elevated Culture Toronto and their gorgeous, cannabis-centred company. 🌬

I’ve used cannabis for many different things, including nausea and upset stomach from IBS, to manage pain in my jaw from TMJ, for trouble sleeping, and to help with anxiety and depression. I’m so glad (and can’t really believe it yet) that I no longer have to feel any ways about using cannabis, because it’s finally legal now ✊🏼

Here’s a very fancy fox I’ve made for my friend Maria for her birthday this year🎉 I’ve used a very unique, hand-dyed Aida cloth for the background material, and honestly this photo does no justice for how beautiful it really is 🦊

It’s so difficult to take pictures of shadow boxes, but here’s the bib I’ve been working on for a coworker, as him and his wife just had a new baby boy 💛

He absolutely loooves The Simpsons, so I stitched the Flying Hellfish logo- as he requested 🍩

Some very cute lavender embroidery necklaces I made up for the Niagara Lavender Festival on July 7 & 8 2018 💜

Lavandula (common name lavender) is a genus of 47 known species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India.

This is the final piece I stitched up for a show- a very fancy and variegated African Violet 💜 

Saintpaulias, commonly known as African violets, are a genus of 6–20 species of herbaceous perennial flowering plants in the family Gesneriaceae, native to Tanzania and adjacent southeastern Kenya in eastern tropical Africa.

One last pansy (for now) 😂 I think orange is my favourite colour palette to work with, which makes sense cause it’s my favourite colour! 🧡

The garden pansy is a type of large-flowered hybrid plant cultivated as a garden flower. It is derived by hybridization from several species in the section Melanium ("the pansies") of the genus Viola, particularly Viola tricolor, a wildflower of Europe and western Asia known as heartsease.

I’ve been meaning to embroider some Bleeding Hearts for a very long time now. I have always been fascinated by them, and this stitch was a really fun challenge! ❣️

Lamprocapnos spectabilis (Bleeding Heart) is a species of flowering plant in the poppy family Papaveraceae, native to Siberia, northern China, Korea and Japan.
