I've continued to utilize my grandfather's old wind-up alarm clock. It still works, the only problem is that I have not been able to get the speed correct.

The control lever is so minute (I have to manipulate it using a pocketknife) that adjusting it moves it too far in either direction. I can't hit just the right spot, so the clock either gains or loses a minute (Sometimes two) each day. A dozen adjustments and I haven't been able to get it to run correctly.

I know that as a mechanical timepiece it's never going to be exact -- even electronic timepieces gain or lose time over a long enough period -- but even getting it down to one second loss/gain a day would be sufficient.

hello friendly tumblr people, i am trying to repair my grandmother's old mechanical alarm clock and the world wide web is telling me absolutely nought.. maybe there are some wise people out here who could help me. i am not sure whether it is broken or i'm just too stupid to properly wind it up but any help would be greatly appreciated <3
