I wish people would stop acting like its automatically bad rep / writing for a character to have negative reactions to something like being transgender or disabled. A character should be more than their disability or orientation and its not automatically problematic to depict how different individuals might respond to these aspects of their personality. Characters dont need to always be the model example of each single factor of their identity. A character who is disabled might not ALWAYS immediately feel strong and independent despite what those around them might say- because the other elements of their identity/personality/circumstances might cause them to feel negatively about themselves. They might lash out, they might get jealous, or bitter. And that shouldn't always be read by audiences as the writers personal worldview on disabled people?? Human beings are RARELY the ideal, and I dont think that characters should be either. In my own personal experience with neurodivergence, sexuality and gender identity, I think that it is natural for people who are in some way different from the people who surround them to develop traits that aren't always going to be positive and that shouldn't need to be something that is hidden away from audiences in media.

Audiences GET more receptive to exploring concept human emotions in media NOW. I beg we all stop reading everything in the most surface level way, and STOP reducing characters to being bad rep simply for being flawed.

ok yes. This is largely due to the Influx of people complaining about Jax being a transwoman being bad rep just because she's an abuser. And yes I mean the people talking about SPECIFICALLY solely that reason

I dont even like jax and it BY NO MEANS excuses her actions.. but guys please. internalised misogyny due to being insecure about her gender identity is, an interesting exploration of her character? Its not always as dumbed down and simple as "GASP!!! They made this MISOGYNIST character TRANS?? THIS IS SO PROBLEMATIC BECAUSE NOT ALL TRANS WOMEN ARE MISOGYNISTS!!" Characters have more than one trait and shouldn't be dumbed down that way.

In an ideal world where Dark and Orange were never enemies, I think these two would get along of their shared love for drawing.

Orange would show Dark of his drawings that comes to life, meanwhile Dark shows Orange his sketchbook of very intricate tech and machinery.

Dark's drawings is such an overlooked aspect of his character. This is why I believe he and Orange would get along.

Alr so I js rewatched HTTYD 3 and I have some serioussss beef w it

So this is tweaks I would make to improve it :3 (if I was spontaneously sent back in time and made director with full creative control blah blah blah)

First. I would beg tj miller on my HANDS ON KNEES. CLAWING AT HIS TROUSERS to come back as tuff for hidden world. I like his new va but he’s js not ruff :,) - also how is this guy voicing him for the multiple series but not this movie- 😭

Personally, I feel the hiccup and toothless vibe of this movie was js off- granted they did have their adorable bsf bits but ur telling me when hiccup gave him the tale toothless would have just left him like that??? No ty-

And to add to that- while I do love the concept of the light fury, and their black and white aesthetic, I think her hate comes from the fact she was taking toothless away from hiccup and in doing so, away from the series. I don’t blame her- she’s just following her instincts, and she doesn’t realise that the Viking’s are dragons friends here. Idk how exactly, but I’d definitely change that, so the fans blame the light fury less, maybe if we even get a bonding moment with her and hiccup, so she doesn’t seem less like this new character who took toothless away and had bbys w him

Oh yeah- about toothless- I am again going back to the fact that he LEFT HICCUP. LIKE STRAIGHT AWAY. Like sure he had that moment where he hugged him bc he thought it meant forever, but STILL 😭. We’ve grown attached to this dragon for the last 3 movies, and he just leaves like that??? I’d say ooc tbh, and I’d tweak it to make toothless more obviously torn between the two. This might be my fanself speaking, but instead of him like choosing the light fury, and saving hiccup as an afterthought, he could instead see the two equally, and actually have a dilemma about it. It would add to his character and not the past movies feel worthless

Again adding to that- idk if it was just me but I felt so awkward when hiccstrid made it to the hidden world, and toothless left it to save them. I just feel so bad for hiccup, and the movie isn’t giving him any justice 😭😭. Then to make it worse, the fury’s basically get captured, indirectly because of hiccup, which makes the awkward bad feeling even worse. Just imo, but they could have evoked another tone there

Now, this idea has probably been thought about a lot so srry if I’m being oblivious- but at the end- hiccstrid: has 2 kids. Toothless and Luna: have 3 kids. Sequel potential??? Hello???? Like instead of nine realms this is right here??? Nofink has the mainly white one, zephyr has the mainly black one, and the one left can add a little mystery to it, or they can incorporate another character here. It feels like a great setup that they js completely left in the cold

And finally, I rly don’t ljke how the dragons left- (also I am maddd that they only panned to the other riders for a teensy bit. They are the characters we see the most in series and stuff- ans Erik gets more screen time then? I wanna see their raw intense emotions of having their companion leave them). I feel like it was kinda rushed, and the writers could have kept them if they put the effort in.

Like- for me- I would make it so its like- we’ve had the scene where the dragons leave- and now we get a new scene, it’s a few weeks later, and hiccup is doing some chores of whatever on new berk. Then trees rustle and whatever, climax, the he looks up curiously, and BOOM toothless is there, with the light fury looking inquisitively behind him. Toothless and luna still live in the hidden world, but they visitttt bc that existsssss. It’s not so gut wrenchingly sad, and the dragons still go to the hidden world. I mean realistically, toothless’ tail would need maintenance. Luna can become more comfortable around humans, and heal her trauma. All their kids can grow up together, and it would be rly cute and cool. The other dragon riders see theirs too, but it would be a happy side note as the main focus is toothless and hiccup. Boom- the movie still holds change, but now it’s not so sad.

Js to be clear- I don’t hate this movie 😭😭😭- I js feel it’s a) rly sad and heartwrenching but b) isn’t dealing with the sadness in a great way, and feels a bit rushed and ooc

I love this so much and I hope you don’t mind if I lowkey steal it sometime because, look, ya’ll know I love to write about memories and cutting in and out through past and present and this seems absolutely perfect fam you may of just given me my new fic idea Because I just love the idea of these two fools growing old together, they’re a bit more world-weary now, a bit more reserved with everyone that’s not each other, and even now RHM still sees in Reg the beginning and an end to something he’s never been able to figure out.  When they first met they were both hungry and young, and they’ve gone from that to monsters to something undeniable and not quite either, something that’s uncontrollable and tired and hungry in a way someone would describe a long-raging storm, and RHM looks across the table and sees in Reg all the things they are and used to be.
