Wouldn't your mage rights tag be better if it were "welcome to the mage hell CIRCLE" *runs*
LMAO
I mean at this point its final form is probably some sort of multidimensional mage hell dodecahedron

Actually if I were to rewind and make an “autistic” pokémon instead of a more general “neuroqueer” pokémon, I don’t think I would choose audino. I would choose ditto, because autistic people are always forced to act like someone else.
How I'd describe you: a bit awkward and sometimes hard to hear, but a really good writer and really passionate about things and really smart and one of the best people I've ever met.
Thank you! =^.^=
(Especially considering I just got added to a podcast thing, I should work on speaking slower (at least in more formal settings). Speed may not be the only problem, but slowing down would likely smooth other stuff over)
Also, me? Really passionate about things?
Nah
(Totally going to ignore all of those times I’ve tried to explain Abstract Algebra to people including non-math majors)
(Also going to ignore that 100k+ fic I wrote that I can talk about for hours and wrote before the damn show came out)
(Or the pitchfork incident)
(or the fact that I can’t get to sleep right now is because, no, you should not spend nearly all day minus breakfast, lunch, and dinner doing math research, since that means you will likely continue thinking about it while you are laying in bed instead of falling asleep)
in response to an ask meme: How would you describe me to someone who never met me
hey (also don't worry about your follower count, I've been on here over 2 years and even GFE is a whole year old, you do a lot of fandom stuff and you'll get followers for that, give it time, it's not gonna be linear growth)
Ok, first and foremost, you do a lot of great social justice stuff on your main blog and on GFE. I can always find sj related on your blog, whether it is a short meme on a topic, dragging of an asshole who responded to something, or a sj post infused with a little more humor. You concentrate on the things that affect you most, but are knowledgeable and articulate on a variety of issues. You not only show that you’ve thought a lot about the subjects at hand but also know a lot about the history as well, and I learn something new each time I’m with you.
Oh, and did I mention that you are a great friend and support? Though we don’t hang out as often as we should, your always a great person to sit with or vaguely hum with on dark some-what chilly (but not that bad) nights or watch the Flash with on Tuesdays.
I totally get that about the follower count. I mentioned in a post somewhere that I get that its totally reasonable and is a product of me not being on the site long. Its just that even knowing that a situation is totally reasonable doesn’t prevent me from feeling bummed, especially when it feels like I’m posting into the void (aka I post something I’m really proud of and I have to wait a few days or forever wondering whether anyone’s seen it. This actually happens quite frequently). It also doesn’t help when people post about reaching their next hundred since the past few months, I suddenly have something to compare my relatively low amount to. This comparison happens even if I know it doesn’t actually comment on the quality of my blog and even if I know that having followers helps you get followers (makes total sense, you get more exposure).
The word I use for negative feelings in situations you know are reasonable and are no ones fault is bummed. And the thing is, acknowledging that the situation is reasonable and no one’s fault can help, but sometimes, in the end, your still just bummed about it.
However, the important thing isn’t really how many followers I have but rather the quality of the interactions I have with the few people I have, and I have been getting more of that recently. Like a like can sustain me for days, but receiving feedback on something whether it is a selfie or a fic can make my day.
If you saw the tumblr blog thing, I am currently in one of the ‘don’t care times’,and on another post when I said I’d throw a party at reaching 50, I was speaking of it more as a milestone (and an excuse to go out to eat because I want an excuse for that). But, even if I don’t care now, I also remember how frustrating shouting into the void feels like, and I have wondered that if I had a larger follower count, I’d get a bigger/existent response on the things I care about.
tl;dr even if I know that a low follower count is understandable and doesn’t mean much, I still occasionally get bummed, but that doesn’t mean I’m always bummed. Also mediocre-latinist is an awesome person.
You can’t tell an agender, bisexual person to use “LGBT” instead of “queer” when neither agender nor bisexual are included in LGBT.
