Okay, but, I'm all for showing our appreciation for the Flash, but maybe he shouldn't make public appearances in the future. He's a target, and the events showed how that puts people at risk

That view is totally understandable, and more precautions should  be taken at public events. The Flash is not invincible, and his work protecting the city from metahumans who choose to use to use their powers to cause harm and other criminals will cause him to make dangerous enemies. Those enemies will not always respect the lives of bystanders. 

Even with extra precautions, you would still be perfectly fine in taking the option of watching from home.

At the same time, the Flash having a public face is important. For one, it helps people see that not all metahumans are threats and to appreciate their potential for good as well as harm. Treating the Flash like a constant risk will also teach people to fear the Flash, which may make the Flash’s job of protecting this city more difficult for everyone. This is not just a matter of convenience. As I mentioned in a previous post, the Flash cannot protect this city alone, we as citizens need to step up to help him and do our part. If we are too busy worrying about the risk the Flash potentially poses, we are less likely to work with him or even let him do his job.

Finally, though a generalized fear is counter-productive, having a public face will also help keep the Flash accountable. People need to see that he is human behind the mask, and that he isn’t perfect. He’s a hero certainly, but he will still make mistakes. As he makes more public appearances, there will be more opportunities to discuss how he can improve.

We should realize that the work the Flash does is dangerous and that danger may occasionally follow him, but that does not mean we should cut him out of our lives. As a cops daughter, I understand that this balance isn’t always easy, but it is important none the less.

whats the weirdest food you've ever eaten?

I ate a bug at the science museum once. Not going to say I’d eat it again, but it wasn’t half bad. I also have a friend who eats his pizza’s with pepperoni, olives, and jalapenos, even though he can’t handle hot foods.

coke or pepsi?

Can I say coffee instead? There’s no way I could power through the day without it.

If I didn’t have a warm roast in my hands and I had to choose between those, maybe Pepsi just because its a little sweeter. But, honestly I don’t have a strong preference between the two, and restaurants typically don’t carry both anyways. So, the decision basically would come down to whats on hand.

Thank you. I’m glad I can be an inspiration.

Indeed I am afraid because it has happened multiple times. Both times I managed to walk away, but one time resulted in my boyfriend’s kidnapping.

However, being afraid does not mean that I need to let my fear control me. For one, writing my blog is not just about me; the people of Central City deserve to know the amazing things going on in their own city, not just for hope and inspiration but also for their own safety.

At the same time, I also know how to take care of myself, and when I get into a situation that I can’t handle alone, I know there are people who have my back. That doesn’t mean everything will always be okay, but it does give me hope and faith in the future.
