Mega Heatran
I was thrilled when I saw that one of my favorite Pokémon had a Mega Evolution in the ZA DLC, and now it's a big volcano on legs (I love volcanoes).
#485 Mega - When bonded with a Trainer it trusts and empowered by Heatranite, Heatran can Mega Evolve into Mega Heatran. Said to be birthed from the boiling magma within Mount Coronet, body of these Legendary Pokémon are made of rugged steel that has partially melted in spots due to their own internal heat; molten blood courses through its veins, boiling like living magma. Mega Evolution destabilizes the molten core within Heatran’s body, causing magma to surge through newly formed fissures in its armor-like plating. In this state, Mega Heatran wields vastly amplified power, its volcanic attacks growing catastrophic in scale. It is said that the temperature of its body can exceed 1.8 million degrees Fahrenheit, the intense heat keeping enemies at bay.

I do wanna hear what you think about my boy Big Nasty (mega Heatran)
Mega Heatran is one of those megas where not only do I really like it, but honestly I wish this is just what the original 'mon looked like. Heatran always felt kind of Wishiwashi; just a brown toadish-looking 'mon that doesn't even feel like it's a legendary. But Mega Heatran? Now THAT'S a legendary Pokemon that looks and feels the part.
The big thing with Mega Heatran is that it takes the idea of Heatran and cranks it up to 11. All those dull muddy browns? Now they're bright reds and oranges, reflecting its molten body. The shapeless body? Now it's basically just straight-up melting due to the intense heat, with that melting gooey-ness making it like it's made of magma. The weird-looking "toothy" metal jaw that didn't serve any purpose? Now it's hanging open to reveal a blazing hot furnace-like inferno.
As an added bonus, it has smoke coming from its back and an extra goopy pile of metal instead of actual hind legs, which I think is really cool and a very unique way for Heatran to move around.
And visually, it just plain looks better than Heatran. The concept of it being a lava-based Pokemon is way clearer. The colors are much more appealing and make it pop more along with having better contrast with the metal grays. The markings over the body are no longer haphazard, but large and placed strategically to balance the colors and help break apart the design. The body shape is more distinct. It's got some nice animated touches, such as the moving smoke and wiggling droplets around the mouth. And, most importantly, it just feels more like a legendary. I'll take this over regular Heatran any day.
Another entry into "whoever is writing the Pokédex descriptions is fucking insane". Describes a cosmos-level extinction event -> "That heat keeps enemies at bay".
