MEGA-LUCARIO FROM LAST NIGHTS STREAM

Awakening

The sun was slowly setting on the horizon and I was standing on a low cliff that’s right next to the Pacific Ocean. I was carrying a bag that had my snacks, water and something else for a special someone. Every now and then waves would crash against its rocky side, and I felt the spray of sea water hit my face. “Hey, cousin!” I heard a friendly voice and I turned around to see a sub-human Riolu like me heading my way from the sidewalk, he had blue eyes and a “comb over” hairstyle and was wearing a white shirt with a black spade on it with blue jeans. “You’re...” I started to say before I heard another voice ringing in my head: “Sai! Wake up! where are we?” My eyes snapped open and i sat up hastily, I was siting in one of the booths at the bar with Iris and Akira who are occupied with other things here. I looked at my right hand and saw that my comet shard was glowing faintly, letting me know that Suisei’s finally awake. I was about to say something when i felt a tear running down my right cheek. I touched it before i said: “Damn... why did he popped back into my head?” “Who...?” Suisei asked via telepathy before she noticed what just occurred. “Oh... i’m sorry if this is a bad time, i’ll...” “No! Stay. i’m fine... it was a long time ago after all...” I said before i told her about the deal i made between me and Iris and what this place is.

“Oh, i see...Well, if that’s how it is... I guess i wouldn’t mind if i could join in.” Suisei said before she went silent and I looked up and saw a female mega-lucairo with a white dress who’s sitting on the other side of the booth. She looked at her self in the window before looking down and she opened and closed her hands before nodding. “Yep... looks like it’s still incomplete. In order to maintain this... projection, I have to at least be within five feet from you.” She said before she shrugged. “Well, at least I can finally talk with other pokemon here!” I sighed before smiling. “Just... don’t try to hit on other guys here, ok?” The mega-lucario nodded eagerly before she looked around, wondering what this place has in store for her.

Suisei has finally joined the event! She’s at the booth with Saisei if you’re looking forward to talk with a guardian spirit.

Saisei vs Akira. Healing wounds from the past.

I walked out of the forest and into a clearing of yellow flowers, petals flying in the gentle breeze, the sun shone so brightly that it’s almost hard to believe that it’s night where my home was. My comet shard on my right glove glowed as my partner’s voice echoed in my head: “He’s here…” Without responding, I nodded slowly and saw a cave on the side of a hill and went forward. Each step I take makes the air intensify as every thought in the back of my mind kept telling me to leave. But i didn't come all this way just to be pushed back. 

When I entered the cave, it was surprisingly dark and hollow… except for a pokemon that’s meditating and hovering in mid air: the pokemon that I was looking for, Mewtwo. It is a bipedal, humanoid Pokemon with some feline features. It is primarily gray with a long, purple tail. On top of its head are two short, blunt horns. A tube extends from the back of its skull to the top of its spine, bypassing its neck. It has a defined chest and shoulders, which resemble a breastplate. The three digits on each hand and foot have spherical tips. Its tail is thick at the base but thins before ending in a small bulb. I also noticed that it had a mega necklace dangling around its neck, telling me that it can mega evolve at will… I was about to take a step forward when I heard a voice I didn't recognize echoed through my head: “I told you all to leave me here… I am where I belong.” 

I was taken back at first before replying via telepathy: “I understand what you’ve been through after the way you were treated… after you escaped, you’ve been surviving on your own for so long that it’s impossible to trust anyone… and it’s kept you alive and safe.” After I finished, the mewtwo’s eyes, one green one purple opened slowly and it was surprised to see a riolu with human-like hands and feet… “And what are you? I can’t exactly tell who or what you are… i sense that you are both pokemon and human but also neither?” It said before leaving it’s meditation stance as its feet touched the cave floor. “Well…” I started to say before showing it my comet piece on the glove… “My parents were human before they were turned into pokemon thanks to a comet that left behind this stone… in a different world that is..” “I see… so you’re here to make me believe that humans have stopped making pokemon from their laboratories and treat them like they’re not living creatures?” It asked. That’s the question I was hoping to avoid. I looked up towards the towering creature before it raised one of its three-digital hands and created a sphere made out of dark energy, it was a shadow ball. “If not, don’t waste your breath and leave me…  i won’t tell you a third time.”

“Was afraid you’d say that…” I said before I felt my energy and the comet’s energy being mixed together and I was enveloped in a pillar of light. Before mewtwo could fire the shadow ball the arm of a lucario emerged and fired an aura sphere and the two connected in midair before making an explosion to cover each of our movements. I rushed forward as a lucario before grabbing the mewtwo by the tail and threw it at the cave wall. The mewtwo stopped halfway using it’s hovering capabilities before getting a closer look at me: It was shocked at my new form before it’s eyes went on the round spike that was on my chest, It was a Damascus color instead of silver-steel color. “I see… so, since you’re aren’t strong enough to face me, you relied on the powers you were given.”  It said before I saw it’s eyes glow a deep pink and I felt my body tensing up, before it was hovering a few feet off the ground… “Let go of me..!” I said, trying to break free from mewtwo’s psychic abilities. Since my mother was a psychic type my powers came from her as a family trait but since I was a fighting type… it’s weaker and I could only enter other Pokemon's minds or communicate via telepathy. My psychic skills compared to Mewtwo’s is like an anthill next to a mountain!

“Who do you work for?! I’ll find out for myself!!” It yelled before it’s eyes closed and I felt it poking through my mind… In a moment I felt something snap inside of me and I curled up my body before releasing this new energy. “HAAAH!!” I yelled before i felt mewtwo’s psychic power loosen and i was floating temporarily before my feet softly touched the ground… “Your psychic powers are unnatural… how is this possible? Wait… before i was cut off, i saw that your mother was a delphox! Of course… it must be a hand-me down ability...” “It’s not complete… but this proves that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” I struggled to say before entering a fighting stance… “Round two… come at me with everything you’ve got and i’ll return in kind… I will make you accept humanity once more… I SWEAR!!” I yelled before charging at him with extreme speed. My first attack was successful and it caught mewtwo off guard, I punched and kicked his stomach a couple of times before kicking it into the cavern wall with a crash.”Choke on this!!” I said before throwing multiple miniature aura spheres like a mini gun… each one exploding on his body. That’s when out of the chain of aura spheres I tossed at him, a shadow sphere came hurtling at me from the smoke screen… I had barely time to dodge it before mewtwo’s hand grabbed me by the muzzle and I was flying out of the cave by a powerful throw. I was able to back-flip and landed safely in the field before I saw mewtwo emerging from the cavern… 

it’s form remained unchanged and yet for a second I was overpowered by physical strength. However, its mind was exposed for me to look into and I saw a young male scientist giving Mewtwo a present when it was only a few years old. “For me?” It asked. The man nodded and said: “Yep! You’re unique in every way… this mega stone has been modified so that way you can access both your x and y form without any trouble!” The man hugged the mewtwo and the mewtwo accepted the man’s embrace before a woman in the lab coat walked into the room “Reznov!! You’re needed in the meeting!” She told him before leaving the room with the door open. “You’re leaving…?” Mewtwo asked and the man nodded before saying. “No matter what happens to you here, you must have a strong heart… I promise that everything will be OK.” He then walked to the door and looked at the mewtwo before saying “See you later, Akira…” Before I was cut off from the memory, I heard the mewtwo yell “YOU LIED TO ME!!”

I opened my eyes and saw that the mewtwo called Akira was holding me in the air with it’s psychic powers and it was in it’s Y form. its new form enhanced it’s psychic abilities, making it much harder for me to break free… “So you’ve learned my past, the point where my faith in humans slowly faded away before I was treated like an inanimate object.” Akira told me as it was lifting my body with just a finger… I couldn’t help but feel sorry for Akira. Even though I got so much stronger with my training with Suisei, Akria’s hatred for humanity is deeper and darker than I thought. There’s no other way… If I want a shot in hell of winning, I'm going to have to use the move Suisei and I created together… “I don’t know what kind of tortuous experiments you had to put up with…” I said, my chest spike glowing softly “But you’ve gotta accept the past to move forward… I did.” I then was enveloped in a Damascus colored veil of light that blinded Akira… I softly landed and the veil vanished, revealing it my Mega-lucario form… the light reflected my Damascus colored spikes. “The real fight starts now…” I said softly before rushing forward with extreme speed while landing a salvo of invisible blows on the mewtwo, landing behind them while it was stunned. I turned to deliver two hard knees to the back of their head and neck, finishing the preceding rush with a back-flipping kick.

I landed a few feet from mewtwo as it was stunned by my recent power-up. “How...?” It said before it transformed to its X mega-evolved form, increasing it’s physical stats a lot. “You chose to live alone without any friends… that’s the worst mistake you made.” I said before I raised my right arm in the air generating a ball of Damascus light, quite different from my aura sphere… Akria gritted his teeth and yelled “I will not… go back to being the pathetic being that they created me to be!!” It then charged at me at breakneck speed, before hitting me in the head with a mega punch. I endured the attack, not moving an inch and lowered my arm with the sphere intact before pressing it against mewtwo’s chest. “Sorry...” I said before I launched the attack in a beam-like projectile causing Akira to be sent flying before crashing against the hillside. When the debris cleared, the mewtwo was back to its base form and was out cold.

I took this opportunity to look into it’s mind and saw it playing with the pokemon the scientist’s brought over before it overheard doctor Reznov arguing with one of the CEOs: “You want me to make Akira undergo ‘those’ experiments?! Each and every time an organization creates a mewtwo, it always goes berserk after being treated like a lab-rat! I want Akria to be a mewtwo untainted by all of that.” Reznov claimed before the CEO grabbed the scientist’s lab coat. “You’re not in any position to give us orders, Dr. Reznov… I remember that you used to work for a criminal organization before it was disbanded and ever since you were on the run to protect you and your family…” Akira looked at the two uncertainly and hid, wondering what’s going to happen next. “Just know that if we don’t get any test results… we can’t guarantee the safety of you or your family’s welfare... It’ll be over for you.” The CEO said before they left the room… after the conversation, a few months later: Reznov was eventually driven out because he didn’t uphold his end of the bargain he made with the CEO. I opened my eyes after finishing looking through Akira’s memory. 

I walked forward before reverting back to a riolu and went up the hillside before kneeling next to the unconscious Mewtwo... Akira woke up a few minutes later and saw me, but it didn’t say a word and looked the other way. “You knew the reason why Reznov wanted you to be strong… didn’t you?” I asked and Akira’s eyes were on me. “Reznov did his best to raise you as one of his own… he knew the risks of what would happen if he didn’t make you undergo those tortuous experiments and paid the price…” Akira looked at me with shock before nodding. “Yeah… if I’m being honest, the first thing I did after escaping the lab was finding him… when I did however, he was already in jail with his family. That’s proof enough that there’s nothing for me here, only despair and pain.” It said, I grabbed It’s hand before shaking my head in disagreement. “If what you’re searching for isn’t here in this world, why not start searching for it in a new one?” I asked before taking out a strange ring and threw it a few feet in front of us before it expanded and created a portal, big enough for Akira to go through. The scent of seawater reached my nose as we heard waves crashing against a cliff-side with moonlight seeping in…

Akira looked at me before turning his attention to the portal. “Some people like you deserve second chances after all… hope you don’t mind starting over from scratch though.” I said, suppressing a chuckle before I stood up and transformed into my lucario form and pulled Akria up to it’s feet. “Heh, if you tell me your name, I might consider it.” It said musingly, I only chuckled before answering his question: “It’s Saisei… it means ‘rebirth’” I said as we walked forward, hand in hand, to Akira’s new home and the start of it’s adventure….

Light of the Past

“Saisei… Sai… please wake up.” Suisei’s voice echoed through my head and I opened my eyes… I was still leaning against a tree but Anastasia wasn’t there and I’m in an unfamiliar, yet beautiful place… I was in a giant garden, flowers of many kinds bloomed in all sorts of directions. I looked behind me and I saw Suisei’s form: a female mega-lucario dressed with clothing fit for a priestess of Japanese origin. She was sitting on the edge of the garden with her legs swaying slowly. I slowly approached her and below us I saw something that made me drop my jaw in awe: it was a city unlike anything I've ever seen on earth… the skyscrapers’s design and architecture are different than the ones I'm familiar with. There’s also some fireworks going off and I looked up and saw something strange: the sky itself is split between night and day. On the night-side of the sky, which is my left side: many stars are swirling together in a circular motion like a whirlpool and on my right side the sun’s rays are going between a strange giant portal. “Beautiful world, isn’t it? Almost like a dream… this place...is where... I was born…” Suisei said in a sad voice. I was half-expecting her to say that but not in that kind of tone… That’s when I realized that this IS a dream and she’s currently homesick.

“Why are you showing me this?” I asked her as I sat down next to her in the dream-simulated garden. Suisei took a deep breath before sighing and gave me her answer: “well… In order to truly harness the power of the comet you called Sentinel… you must learn about what happened here before I was sent to your world.” She said before the scenery drastically changed I was in some kind of palace, in a throne room by the looks of it… Sui’s no longer right next to me and I looked around to find out where she went. I was near the doors to the room when I looked toward the far end and found out I was facing three groups of sixteen people. Each group had two rows of eight people and were separated by a five-foot gap. Despite having white clothing and hoods which concealed their appearance they all had blue furry tails that’s similar to mine. That’s when it hit me: every single being in this room are Lucarios like me.

I heard the sound of wood creaking and I looked behind me to see an unfamiliar male lucario. Like the others, he had a white hood that covered most of his body, but since he was facing me I saw his appearance. But I only had a brief moment before he went through me like I was a ghost… but it didn’t matter: I know what he looked like the moment I laid eyes on him.

He looks just like me

He had emerald green eyes, a medium length hairstyle with the right side of his hair being longer than the left. He had metal armor like a medieval knight had under the cloak and I could've sworn I saw a sword tucked away on the left side of his leg. He was walking at a normal pace and the group of lucarios in the middle of the room split apart to make way for this new warrior. Realizing that I needed to see where this was going, I followed my look-alike across the room. As I walked towards the end of the throne room I saw an aged lucario wearing clothing that’s fit for a king. “Shawn. As heir to the throne, the time has come for your final test to become a true light-strider. You may select your opponent of choice…” The man said before the Lucario called Shawn threw a dagger to his right at no one in peculiar but there peeking behind another door were a set silver eyes as the knife hit the wood.

Shawn’s hand was still outstretched as his index finger was pointed at the one spying on the ceremony. “I wish to fight… her.” Shawn said and whispers and murmurs filled the room before the king looked at his son with shock. “No… it’s forbidden!! Despite her gift and talent for fighting, she’s of impure blood! Challenging her would be a violation of our laws since ancient times!” Shawn looked at his old man before he smiled and took off his hood. “This isn’t our first skirmish and it won’t be the last.” He told the elderly lucario and the king was lost for words. The silver-eyed spy eyes glimmered and Shawn’s head turned towards her. “Will you face me in this hallowed arena, Suisei?” I was not expecting this… Suisei, an outcast in this world? The door opened and the silver-eyed maiden stepped forward. She was already in her mega-lucario form and was holding a fighting-staff that’s similar to the one I received from Iris. She was wearing steel armor as well and had a smile on her face. “Well… if I must. But I assume i’ll get rewarded if i beat you or gave you a hard time afterwards, right?” Suisei asked as she stopped at least six feet away from Shawn and she entered a stance with her staff ready in both hands. “Depends, IF you can give me a good time as well.” Shawn said as he unsheathed his blade, threw away his cloak and entered a two-handed sword stance himself.

The king just sighed and sat on his throne while the group of Lucarios other than Shawn and Suisei left the room and the king’s hand was raised in the air. “Ready? BEGIN!” At the signal the two fighters jumped into the air and with the clang of metal, the scenery suddenly changed again. This time the throne room was in shambles, the king and his knights were dead on the ground and I saw Suisei’s body being held in a wounded Shawn’s arms. “They dare break the treaty? And for what? To obtain Suisei’s raw power of the light? … no it can’t end here… there’s a way to save her… *cough* *cough*... while there’s still time…” He said as he slowly stood up. He went to the throne itself and whispered some kind of incantation before the seat moved downward into the floor and revealed a secret passageway that was hidden behind the chair. The surviving knight, still carrying the body of the mega-lucario female entered without looking back and I followed the two. “Suisei… none of this is your fault… *cough* my father and I knew the risks of taking you in… you have more power than any of us light-striders. Perhaps the strongest in all of our history….*cough**cough* It’s too soon for you to die like this… it may be too late for your body… but not your soul.” Shawn said as we continued to descend.

It took at least three minutes for us to reach the end of our destination. When I saw what lay at the end of the tunnel I was not ready for it: A giant crystal at least the size of the base of a skyscraper was radiating a soft and calm light. “This… will change every living thing on an entire planet into pokemon like us… But it’s just a small price to pay… and I'm willing to pay with my life...” Shawn said as he set Suisei’s body next to the crystal and he whispered another incantation before Suisei’s eyes fluttered open. “Shawn… don’t.” She whispered and Shawn's incantation was interrupted. “It’s OK, Sui. I promised you didn’t i? I promised that I will protect you… no matter the cost.” Shawn said as Suisei’s body glowed faintly and the crystal resonated with her. “Even if I die and reincarnate… no matter what shape or form I take next when I’m reborn: I will protect you…” Shawn whispered and he kissed her lips before some kind of mist emitted from Suisei’s body and it entered the crystal before it radiated a bright light. “SHAWN!!” Suisei’s voice echoed throughout the room before the crystal disappeared and I looked out the only window to see a new comet that circled this world for a brief moment before it disappeared… “I love you…” I heard Shawn say before I heard something collapsed and I turned around to see him on the floor, lifeless… he gave his life to save the one he truly cared about.

I woke up in cold sweat to see myself still leaning against the tree in the forest. It was night time and Anastasia was already curled up and asleep on the forest floor… I could hear someone crying in my head and I saw my comet-shard was glowing faintly. Suisei… I think I know now… the reason why you chose me out of all people:

New power, Old dream

 I woke up and felt like it was any normal day. I looked at the clock and saw it was Jan 17th around 6 am. I got up and yawned deeply, I heard my sister clawing at the door. “Big bro, are you up?” I heard Amber through the door. “Sure, hold on!” I said before getting out of bed and started getting dressed. When i’m finished, I put on my comet-shard glove before unlocking the door and saw my sister giving me a look I thought I'd never seen before: worry. I was about to ask her ‘what’s wrong’ when she pounced on me. I caught her in my arms before hitting the floor with a dull thud. She was on top of me before she shed some tears. “Whoa! Calm down!! What’s gotten into you?” I asked before she got off of me and said: “Ever… ever since the first day of school, you’ve been putting yourself in danger time and again...and without telling me what’s going on... we’re siblings! aren’t we… supposed to be together?” That’s when I realized it: she knew what was going on with me all this time. She carried this burden with her, and hasn’t told anyone about it. “Trust me when I say that I DO want you to be with me on my adventures, but…” I said before transforming into my mega-lucario form and showing her what I've become. “Whoa…” she said. “I know, right? This power chose me and me alone… you’re not ready for this kind of fight yet.” I told her before reverting back into a Riolu.

“Wait for two more years, until you’ve become a Braixen at age fourteen. Only then can you protect me, while I protect you.” I said, giving her a hug. “Saisei…” She said before she cried bullets. “Thank you…” I let go of Amber after she calmed down. “Who else knows about this secret?” Amber asked. “Definitely Hoopa, one of my teachers friends and our mother. She’s the one who awakened the crazy spirit inside this thing…” I said pointing at the stone on my glove. That’s when my mother entered the room with Damascus colored eyes, which told me that mom’s possessed by Suisei. “Who are you calling..?!” she started to say before she noticed my sister. “Oh dear… bad timing?” she asked. I shook my head before saying “Nah. You arrived just in time, Suisei.” I said, giving my possessed mother a smile. Amber looked at my mother and looked at me before realizing what’s going on and broke into cold sweat “M-mom’s possessed?!” She yelled before she entered a fighting stance. “What did you do to her?! Let go of my mom!!” Amber yelled before spewing a few embers at my possessed mother. My mother’s eyes glowed before catching each and every ember with her hands, “Calm down, Amber! We’ll explain…” I said, stepping between amber and my possessed mother in order to stop things from getting to ‘heated up’. 

After we finished explaining everything to Amber she nodded before asking: “Let me see if i got this straight: as long as you possess my mother, you’ll give my brother the strength he needs to fight legendary pokemon? Also…” she then pointed at me with her forward right paw, while looking at my possessed mother. “You’ve been bothering big bro ever since that day?!” She yelled angrily. That’s when I noticed that her eyes were glowing faintly, I looked at my mega glove and it too was shedding some light. “What the…?” I started to say before a faint thread made out of yellow light appeared, it was connecting the sentinel comet piece and my sister.

Suisei was shocked at this before my mother looked at the comet shard, to my sister and to the thin thread that suddenly disappeared… “I see… the thread that was just there must’ve signaled that you’re making a connection with the comet… it’s weak now, but it’ll grow with you as you get older… but...” She said before she snapped her fingers and a portal appeared “I think we should find out if the link is secure or not…” My mother went in and me and my sister followed. My sister was blinded by the sunlight at first but awed in amazement at the scenery it’s similar to the mysterious Stonehenge, but in the middle of the stone structures there were two stones that formed a poke ball. “It’s so pretty…” She said before I sat down on the nearest rock and looked at my possessed mother.

“Ok, Suisei… what exactly are you scheming?” I ask Suisei before she took out one of my mothers wands and ignited it. All of the stones around us started glowing and I saw a faint light coming from each of them and pouring their energy to the tip of the wand. The fire’s color changed as it turned from a bright red to a bright blue. “Before we begin, can i ask you something? Do you mind if your fur color changed a bit? It’ll be purple if you want to know.” Suisei asked my sister. She gave it some thought before nodding. “Sure! But uh, why?” She asked before her body was enveloped in the blue flame. “What the?! What are you doing to her?!” I yelled at my possessed mother, Suisei exited my mother’s body which slumped against the stone. “Granting her wish to fight alongside you, that’s what.” i heard her say before the flame died out. Instead of my fennekin sister was a shiny female braixen that’s on all fours. Her legs were black and her fur formed a skirt, she had a branch stuck in her tail and parts of her white fur covered her top and her ear fur was slightly longer. “Whoa…” me and Amber said marveling at her new form. the new pokemon struggled to stand on her legs before saying. “Big bro? Can you, uh… you know?” She asked me as she put one hand on the boulder, trying to keep herself standing without falling over. “Oh! Right…” I said, transforming into my lucario form before walking to her side. I took one arm over my shoulder as she tried to find her footing. I couldn't help but notice that her legs are trembling, adjusting to her new body.

“As much I would hate to admit it, but this form is temporary and only accessible in this specific area, in order for her to keep it permanent she must evolve to a braixen when she’s fourteen. If i recall correctly that’s two years.” Suisei explained to us. I heard my sister groaning before saying: “As if learning to adjust to this new form wasn’t a pain in the ass already… now i have to wait for two whole years to obtain this form for real?! Give me a break!” When she finished those words, a gust of wind occurred and i saw my sister looking in the direction of the wind with her fur rustling like grass... “Hey… Saisei… does this remind you about that place where we used to play with our parents?” She asked me and those words sparked memories that I forgot.

Ten years ago, we played tag with each other in a secluded area. It had a big towering tree in the middle of the little park and it was shading a bench that people sat on to look at the sun setting below the ocean which carried a nice sea breeze that we felt all the way here.”S-saisei?” I heard her ask me as we sat on the bench and saw the sunset… “Is it true about our parents being humans? If so… what does that make us?” “I… honestly don’t know… but one thing’s for sure…” I said while I put my hands around my sister. “Is that you and I are going to do great things together… i promise.” I opened my eyes and looked at my shiny braixen sister… “You remember… that promise I made you?” She nodded before hugging me. “It’s the reason why I continue to fight… show the others at elementary. That I'm not a pushover.”

I chuckled… i felt a bit embarrassed to rely on my little sister if the time comes… “Well, i hope that there will be a time where you and i can fight side by side, amber…” I said before helping her back up to her feet and she giggled “At least we have a new secret place to train, now don’t we?” My possessed mother sighed before saying “Fine, but you’ve gotta ask first OK? we’ve already got our hands full with Akira, you know...” She then leaned on the nearby walk and she left me and my sister to start our new training session. Hopefully, Amber will learn to get used to her new body and powers for the fights that’ll soon after...
