29. three songs that you connect with right now?

I answered this earlier but since it’s RIGHT NOW I’ll answer it again~

1. Ring of Keys - Fun Home. When I first watched that performance, I cried. It’s such a specific moment, but it’s something I really identify with. Growing up in a small town... There just wasn’t a lot of options, as far as I knew. And before I realized I was queer, realizing that I could cut my hair short and still be an AWESOME LADY but also be masculine? It was a big thing. Watching that happen for someone else, perfectly capturing that moment... It just rings true, in me.

2. Blindfold - Metric. I probably could have chosen any Metric song, but this is the one I thought of first. Metric sets a fire in me, fills me with inspiration and passion. Blindfold itself is to me getting stuck and fighting your way out, turning a hopeless situation into something you can change. I don’t even know if that matches up with the lyrics, really, but it’s what it makes me feel.

3. Stay Human - Michael Franti. He sings about things that can be so negative, about stuff that’s so real, but he makes it hopeful. Again, could have chosen any of his songs. But this one is the one I started humming, so this one it was.
